                    due to restrictions i had to delay this post until it appeared in the Magazine here in Ireland. Unfortunately i have been that busy this summer i totally forgot to upload it to my flickr account. Each image has a description of my day spent in donegal Ireland as we undertook 120 miles of a road run.

When cars move from the mainland over to Northern Ireland, do you get the option to keep the mainland numberplates on them or are those cars people who came over for the event?

            The Irish Ford  Escort Owners Club have members from both sides of the border here in Ireland. Mabey you have seen some of the cars displaying

a UK registration in the link provided. Unfortunately i dont have the information to hand but will get back to you on this matter. Glad you like the images too.

      I have since been contacted by a friend to clarify the situation. Yes a UK registered car can retain its plate whilst being used  in Northern Ireland.

The reverse side of the story is that quite a few UK residents buy Northern Ireland plates to use in the mainland.

Also there have been a few English lads attend the runs like the mourne run 2014

think 3 or 4 lads came over from wales and had meetings with some iec members who arranged some private runs also for their stay.

Think the out come was that they really enjoyed the stay in Ireland an plan more runs

 

Up side is I also think a group or iec members plan on doing a uk run or two this coming year
