cossie daz Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Hi all , I'm fitting a cosworth engine in my mk2 escort . I rebuilding the car at moment with new panels and wondering if bolt in cage or weld in . Is a 6 point better or just a rear cage . Going to do the odd track day and santa pod Motorsport tools do cages of both sorts ranging from £600-£900 . Want the car to be strong but not making to heavy . Is a multi point weld in cage overkill ??
Benjy✌ Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 If your gonna be doing the odd track day I'd go for the full cage! You can never be to safe!
cossie daz Posted December 3, 2014 Author Report Posted December 3, 2014 I'm thinking more a 6 point instead of weld in multi point . Anyone got either fitted ?
Admin Vista Posted December 3, 2014 Admin Report Posted December 3, 2014 Mine is a weld in multipoint, click the link under my sig and you'll find it being installed somewhere in my project thread
classicwhitey Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 have a look on safety devices website too
cossie daz Posted December 3, 2014 Author Report Posted December 3, 2014 Anyone got gary martin Motorsport number and address ??
BigBubba Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Either will be fine for general use. Forget the rear only cage. With a Cossie lump in there, you want a full cage to stop the chassis flexing.
