What would you get for £10k considering I've got no mechanical skills?

A mint Mk3 Cortina or Capri? You can get a nice mk2 escort 2 door for around that money too, less if you're happy with a 4 door

I think any old motor is always gonna need a degree of maintenance and repair no matter how 'good' it is.

For 10 you might get a zetec engined something for more modern power. The best u can do is make sure u get a good shell....engines are cheaper than bodywork!!!

I've had an M3 (both e36 & e46). Fantastic cars but astronomical repair bills. If the e46 goes wrong you will pay thousands, the inspection 2 service was over £1100 alone. Anything near 100k will need a lot of cash spending on it before long.

 

If you want a toy, go with OSF.

E46 M3 values have a long way to go down before they go up and are pretty long in the tooth now.

what would you use the car for. do you want to use it hard or show it, 10K would get you one of the more rarer capri models in good nick or a mint 2.8i or 280

Vista I've been reading the opposite, that e46 m3's have reached the bottom.<br /><br />I like Capri's, but how about a Sapphire Cossie 4x4?

Thanks Mike... liking cars is one big problem. I've had my CSL for 2 1/2 years now and covered 38,000 miles. I love it but I'm starting to get an itch for something different... Just don't know what... Why can't we just be happy with what we have?
