Muzzman Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 What would you get for £10k considering I've got no mechanical skills?
Admin Vista Posted December 12, 2014 Admin Report Posted December 12, 2014 Did you abandon the idea of the RS Turbo then? A mint Mk3 Cortina or Capri? You can get a nice mk2 escort 2 door for around that money too, less if you're happy with a 4 door This mk2 Cortina looks nice for a lot less than that http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C532966
dalmarshall Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 He he you know it makes sense I think any old motor is always gonna need a degree of maintenance and repair no matter how 'good' it is. For 10 you might get a zetec engined something for more modern power. The best u can do is make sure u get a good shell....engines are cheaper than bodywork!!! 1
Muzzman Posted December 12, 2014 Author Report Posted December 12, 2014 OSF or an E46 M3....these are the ideas at the moment
Muzzman Posted December 12, 2014 Author Report Posted December 12, 2014 Sorry but that mk2 Cortina is so dull.... 1
Blimey Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 Import a car from Australia or south africa Forget the rotters them ;£
mk2 mike Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 OSF or an E46 M3....these are the ideas at the moment I've had an M3 (both e36 & e46). Fantastic cars but astronomical repair bills. If the e46 goes wrong you will pay thousands, the inspection 2 service was over £1100 alone. Anything near 100k will need a lot of cash spending on it before long. If you want a toy, go with OSF.
Admin Vista Posted December 13, 2014 Admin Report Posted December 13, 2014 E46 M3 values have a long way to go down before they go up and are pretty long in the tooth now.
mk2 mike Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 This is pretty cool http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=191439207633 2
classicwhitey Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 what would you use the car for. do you want to use it hard or show it, 10K would get you one of the more rarer capri models in good nick or a mint 2.8i or 280
Muzzman Posted December 14, 2014 Author Report Posted December 14, 2014 Vista I've been reading the opposite, that e46 m3's have reached the bottom.

I like Capri's, but how about a Sapphire Cossie 4x4?
thrashermax Posted December 15, 2014 Report Posted December 15, 2014 E46, get into m3cutters and check out the M3 buyers guide. Get one! You'll love it! I love mine... 1
mk2 mike Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 When I had my M3 I lusted after a csl. Lovely car max.
thrashermax Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 When I had my M3 I lusted after a csl. Lovely car max. Thanks Mike... liking cars is one big problem. I've had my CSL for 2 1/2 years now and covered 38,000 miles. I love it but I'm starting to get an itch for something different... Just don't know what... Why can't we just be happy with what we have?
