SammyG Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Not had the car long but it's a great little motor!£2750 onoGood points.3 previous ownersMOT August 2015Currently SORN1100cc engine, 4 speed manual, 83,000 milesWeber carb with k&n filterNew plugsNew Ignition condenserNew Ignition lead setNew Distributor capNew Rotor armLeather seatsGood headlinerRS steering wheelRS alloys refurbished with good Yokohama tyresLowered slightly front and rearAll the usual rust areas repaired and paintedUnderneath is in good shape and wax oiled recentlyI believe front brakes are from a capri and stop well.Bad pointsThe car has had loads of work done and is nice and straight but has had a cheap paint job, looks ok though. When left out in the rain the floor gets wet inside. I think this is window rubber seals. The old carb engines typically take a while to warm up but runs great when left for 5 minutes or so.Exhaust is blowing a bit and temp sensor not responding.Overall a great little car and I'm sure whoever buys it will have great fun! Thanks for reading my honest ad for my honest little car.ThanksSam 2
Kieran Posted December 20, 2014 Report Posted December 20, 2014 That's a very good price, should get snapped up in no time
irishtorag Posted December 20, 2014 Report Posted December 20, 2014 pity to see you shift it on especially when u have a liking for old skool and having just dipped your feet into the osf scene. I understand your reasons for the decision though and as lads say osf motors are fit for daily use I use mine for most of the year ,my home house is a cool 700km from where I reside and regularly use the escort for the run which is probably why ive retained the standard 1600xflow heart kenny
classicwhitey Posted December 20, 2014 Report Posted December 20, 2014 man i need more storage space! could be a bit diferent for osfdc 1
mk2mex78 Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 i think the reason for the water on the floor is the heater bubble, my van has/ had the same problem as there was no trace of water up on the dash or rust etc....looks a great estate....what colour is it?
2litreScapri Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 If 5 numbers come up at the weekend, I might make a trip down to Dorset. Would love to see this in the metal.
SammyG Posted January 12, 2015 Author Report Posted January 12, 2015 Sorry I haven't replied chaps, had phone/internet problems. The car is still for sale, however I will keep it if I only get silly offers
