mk1luvva Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 What's the best paint stripper for panels. I know acid dipping is best process but funds are limited. Used Nitromors and its pathetic. Apparently it's not as it used to be due to EU ruling
jamie956 Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Your right its not as good as it use to be, I find if you roller it on with a small foam roller gives a nice even coat leave it for a bit 15-20mins then give it a second coat over the top.
over_head_cam Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 When stripping you can paint the gear on the surface and cover it with thin polythene to stop it drying out, so giving it more time to work
mk1luvva Posted January 3, 2015 Author Report Posted January 3, 2015 I've given 3 thick coatings to inner boot floor and its just dried out. Even tried Dot 4 lol
PaulMags Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 I always found costic soda does the job.
quickrack Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 I used those rust and paint removal discs from 3m. Great job.
Ray Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 hot air gun and scraper, removes paint, filler and fibre glass repairs, on really stubborn fibre glass areas soak in acetone as with wet paint strippers use in well ventilated conditions, but not windt as youll be wasting your time, you will loose the heat if you must use a wet stripper, try and get hold of Dasic D23V, they use it on aircraft, make sure you get it with the V after, it stands for Viscous, without the V its like water, make sure your well PPE'd up as it burns like hell 1
