3746326 Posted January 25, 2015 Report Posted January 25, 2015 [] I an Ivan McCutcheon and live in Dannevirke New Zealand . I have three Mk 2 Escorts . 1975 two door auto (wifes daily transport .) 1979 Estate ( my daily transport ) Has been modified and has 2ltr and 5 speed . 1980 four door Has 1600 modified with 5 speed . I am trying to find some information and am hopping someone out ther may be able to help . In the process of restoring a Mk1 sport . However it has had a standard gearbox fitted . How do you identify a sport box without pulling it apart and counting the input teeth . The tag on the standard box is 71 AG A/B . Does anyone know the Tag numbers for a sport box . The car was the first Rally car used by a local driver Malcum Stewart and although he has passed away, his wife has recently found the car and having it restored to original . Regards Ivan 1
