Everyone has a car they regret selling, this is mine. HYR 530C is / was a 1965 997cc Deluxe Estate in Spruce Green / Ermine White. My Dad and myself restored this between October 1989 and September 1992, then sold in September 1994. I loved my Estate and regretted selling it which made way for a 1973 MK1 Escort Sport. last seen a few years back at Newark Autojumble HYR was starting to look tatty again even though she left me in mint condition. Does anyone know where she is, i would love to buy her if the chance came up. I love 105Es but this is the one i want back.

As bought in October 1989 for £100. HYR was a 2 owner car with 51,000 miles from new. I bought it in Weybridge, Surrey and it was totally rotten. It had seen a cheap blow over and was busting out with rot all over. It was totallly stripped and rebuilt with new inner and outer sills, O/S front wing, rear quarter, both doors etc. My Grandad rebuilt the engine which was such a smoker that the day after this photo was taken at home in Norwich, Norfolk the kitchen window seen at the far left was totally blotted out by the plume of blue smoke that omitted from my Anglia. Mum was not amused !!

Freshly finished in September 1992, this was taken at the first ever Fritton Lake car show and was the first outing for her. I was still running in the freshly rebuilt engine  as the sign in the rear window states.
I want her back and i really hope she still survives. She was according to the DVLA website last taxed in 2003, but no sorn.  Even as a rotter, i don't care,  as this will always be my Anglia.

12 years is a long time to be off road once they're already established as bonfire Classic cars but stranger things have happened. In another recent thread on here someone pulled a mk1 escort out of a garage after 43 yrs slumber!
