The car was spotted parked up in Shirley Towers car park at 4:45am on the 18th March 2015. A witness says that the thieves, 2 men & one doris tried to get it to start but failed, driving off in either a white Berlingo or Kangoo van. They returned later & collected the car. The car is lowered, has 4 spoke RS alloys, quarter bumpers & is running a 2 litre. I am trying to get further details on the car

Benjy✌ Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 makes me scared to use mine with so many going missing all the time with mine being a daily I keep thinking I'm gonna walk round the corner one day and see it gone! It's not fair! We all should be able to drive and leave our motors anywhere without them being pinched! Makes me sick! 1

mk2 mike Posted March 21, 2015 Report Posted March 21, 2015 This one has. It's been recovered and is awaiting forensics. No idea what state it's in or the circumstances of its recovery though. Actually quite a few have been recovered lately. A yellow mk2 and an orange mk1 (although in a pretty bad state) a red capri and now this gold mk2. Also one of our members cars (silver mk1 IIRC) turned up, albeit damaged. 1

I wonder how much of that is down to social media making it easier to alert people?
escortmad79 Posted March 21, 2015 Author Report Posted March 21, 2015 This one was recovered after being found parked up in a car park. Social media has become a very useful tool in spreading the word & recovery of those that have been recovered. The silver mk1 belonging to a member on here was recovered quickly due to being fitted with a tracker.
Slammed Posted March 22, 2015 Report Posted March 22, 2015 social media is a god send for times like this- I did hate bokface and the likes but to be honest for situations like this- its very useful. glad its been recovered 1

Agree on the Tracker issue. Can be expensive when you have to get it initially, plus the yearly license. To hide it properly, then maybe it should be put inside a fake hollow component. However, as good as they are, these can be easily beaten with a 30 odd pounds gadget as soon as the thief gets in the car. We recently discovered one of these gadgets in one of our trucks fitted with DYNAFLEET. This monitors driver times, location and fuel useage etc. Turned out the driver was moonlighting on private business and knew what he was doing.
