DT36 Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 The Wife and myself had a day out last Friday at the London rally School and absolutely loved it. I have to say, I've done a few different driving experiences and this was by far the best. Others are telling you to take it easy, ooh, watch the paint, but these guys are polar opposites. My wife was very nervous at first and didn't really want to do it. However, the patience and experience of the instructors had her getting a Bronze through the forest stage and she was grinning like a Chesire Cat everytime she got out of the car during each practice stage. I have done a bit of Hooning in my car and thought I could drive. Then these guys really show you how its done. Saying that though, I have definitely learnt some new skills and want to go back for more now. After doing the Escort all morning and then your final run on the forest stage, they bring out the Subaru and give you a few stage runs. Now that's a different beast altogether... My only winge, and it's my own fault is that I didn't take a GoPro with me. If you get the chance, or someone is asking you what you want for a present, I cannot recommend this enough. Good location. brilliant friendly instructors and proper old skool cars. 4
DT36 Posted June 24, 2015 Author Report Posted June 24, 2015 Where are they based? We stayed at the Holiday Inn, Aylesbury then went to them the following morning : Pool Farm, Stratton Audley, Bicester OX27 9AJ
browneskids Posted June 27, 2015 Report Posted June 27, 2015 I did this about 5 years ago, great fun, really chilled out guys. I think all the escorts were 2.0 pinto with sidedrafts - cool !! 1
theloudboy Posted June 27, 2015 Report Posted June 27, 2015 How much is this and how long to you drive the car for I want to go myself
DT36 Posted June 28, 2015 Author Report Posted June 28, 2015 I think I paid £165 each for the 2 of us on a deal for Monte Carlo package. Started at about 9.30 and finished at 12.30. It's cheaper on a weekday. Go on their website and they have a good few packages. One lad I was chatting with had a whole day package. 1
Lightweightsteve Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 I got given the whole day package for my 40 a few weeks ago. I went for the whole day in the RS2000. It was fairly eye watering, price-wise, at just under a grand, but in honesty, it was fabulous. Just me, the car and instructor all day - sole use of the track, so we had no restrictions and were in and out of the car all day - I drove so much that I ached like hell the next day! I've been driving for years and have done a lot of no limits circuit track days in some quick stuff, but very quickly learnt that I couldn't drive a rally car for s..t! By the end of the day, I think that I was doing ok - the instructor said 'in the top 2 or 3 % of newbies', so I was quite chuffed (even though he was probably flattering me!). If you do get the chance, grab it. 1

VivaLaRic Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 I've done this and I whole heartedly agree! Great staff, great facilities and a great day out. Can't recommend them enough. 1

XjamesX Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 I've been twice, last time the Mrs had a go as well, and she loved it too. It's fantastic, by far the best "driving" related day experience you can do imo. And both times I've been the instructors have been brilliant. Couldn't say enough good things about it tbf. 1

popeye Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 I had a day at the same place a few years ago, excellent day out but not a cheap day Enjoyed the Escort but just unable to get on with the Subaru...must be an age thing
Danish Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 We went today for a half-day introductory course and it was really good. With something like this I think the instructor can make or break it, and he was very good - knowledgeable, patient and got the balance right between having fun and being safe. 1

We want to go again, but will take a GoPro next time. Got to agree with your comment on the Instructors. Decent lads.
Danish Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 Most of the photos were taken in the gravel area. We had a fantastic day for it - dry and sunny, but the track had plenty of mud from earlier rain. 1
DT36 Posted March 8, 2016 Author Report Posted March 8, 2016 Looking good Danish. Keeping it sideways.
