Show the Critics the Door - Your 4 Door!
VivaLaRic replied to Rally Pack 2000's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
It just makes it easier to get your whores in and out of the car. As we all know - whores love nothing more than ease of access, nothing worse than having to get out the car, folding your seat forwards and letting your whores in and out. -
I've had mine 5 Yrs now, probably aged me 15 years in that time. A house purchase sucked up pretty much all the money but I've sneaked a few quid away from her indoors in that time. First pic is the day I bought her and second was last summer before she got Gaz front legs and adjustable TCA's so its now lower with more negative camber than I'm sure some people would be comfortable with!

CLASSIC FORD SHOW - 2nd June 2019
VivaLaRic replied to Mexican Gerbil's topic in SHOWS, EVENTS & MEETS
I went a few years back and there were quite a few older cars around although it was probably longer ago than I remember. Most shows / parts for sale seem to be at the other end of the A14 to me and I hate that stretch! -

If they fancy moving it east of Santa pod for next year it’d be okay by me, I’d finally bring the Escort along. Has ford fair happened yet? If not is anybody going? -
yeah I agree with you although being so original with all the history we couldn't cut it up! thanks 👍

CLASSIC FORD SHOW - 2nd June 2019
VivaLaRic replied to Mexican Gerbil's topic in SHOWS, EVENTS & MEETS
Agreed, I only got to have a decent look around the cars on the infield before it p****d down and everyone left. Much easier to get in & out than Santa Pod and nice to have a grass area for display cars (even if I didn't get to see em!) Nice to see a few more companies with retail stands too. Some great cars there top marks to everyone who made it out 👍 -

Nice Capri, southwold is a beautiful place with much beer -
Enjoyed that, one flaw though - they got in the escort and it started.

Never seen maiden but would love too, looks like they still put on as much as show as the old days!

Answered the door this evening and a 6 foot beetle punched me in the face! apparently there's a nasty bug going round

If the transit was scabby looking it should be fine, pikeys would be using (someone else's) shiny new transit

Could a lot of us end up on a q plate ?
VivaLaRic replied to mk1alexp's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
As I understand it, (reading from the first paragraph of the second row) the worst thing to happen to us regardless is a compulsory MOT. As far as I can see this is good. -
Could a lot of us end up on a q plate ?
VivaLaRic replied to mk1alexp's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
I don't think thats completely true, I'm 27 and grew up with my dad driving sierra's but for me its always been the anglias/escorts/cortinas I saw at shows he took me to. A lot of the current OSF owners have kids of which can still grow up to say "my dad had one of those" and perhaps hanker after one themselves? probably even more so now they're something out of the norm and not the everyman's car of yesteryear. If what you say proves to be true then rest assured, I'll enjoy the hell out of your guys' cars that I've bought for £50 when youre dribbling in a home and your families are clearing out "grandads old shit".......... If I can get them registered of course -
Welcome to the latest update to #OldSkoolFord

Me too, I could never find any love for the old mobile site but now its great. good work everyone involved -
A mate of mine has one in the Colchester area if you're still interested?

Yeah they were Stottie rolls filled to the brim with glorious spit roasted pig! Don't worry I found the hog roast van there but once you've gone stottie then a roll - no matter how soft - just isn't the same. I also found out by happy accident at Ford fair 2015 that mayo on a hog roast is sublime if not devisive.

My car is a SA import that had a 1600 xflow installed (no clue as to what the car was originally). When giving the reg I always get the response "that's a mk1 escort RS1600?" I can only assume this is some error formed while undergoing it's UK registration but I bloody wish it was an RS1600! as mentioned in a previous post I wonder what happens should it need to be replaced?
-
Well done everybody! As a little side note - Is anyone else gutted with the absence of the "Stottie" hog roast van? It was always a staple for the day but the last two years it hasn't been there! I realise it's not exactly the point of the day but they really were chuffing good!

It's a shame certain people can harbour so much hate. When all is said and done it doesn't come down to race, religion or getting a voice heard, it just comes down to hate, aggression and violence. "you don't like what I like" - and then violence. My circle of friends happen to be VW guys, we manage to share friendly banter without anyone getting stabbed. LIVE & LET LIVE. Why do things have to be made so difficult? rant over. P.S A topic of this nature on any forum must be a nightmare so I certainly don't envy the Admin!

here here! chuffing good point that. now wheres my pitch fork and flaming torch?

........you think that's bad? my peg basket fell of the washing line! It took 3 whole minutes and a bend down
