Colin, come on you know your car never hit second gear at silverstone .............yeah and I know you will say it "at least mine runs" so nicking your thunder!

So did I! But after talking to man at BGH I needed second gear and synchro hub. Got kit today need rear main shaft, lay gear shaft, washers, circlips, 1st&2nd baulk rings out of a box. What's wrong with the box you have? May be able to use in a kit car we have. And me use that one for a donor box. Cheers Colin

OMG, Sure I could have found simular in the scrap bin at work, yours for a tenner lol. No seriously I hope that this sorts your noisy box! And you will get it together, might take a few attempts and phone call but you will master it, just look at your angle box, she's smart as!

Oh yeah, I'm all you need what with my massive mechanical experience. .........yeah let me loose on something that will ping out bits and pieces at will. And even if I got it apart and back together what would I do with the handful of bits I am sure I would have left! You will sort it no problems.

You need bits left over, helps lighten them, assume the new bits replace bits already in place? Should be able to pull apart and swop for new bits? Ages since i took a box apart, bet it will come back to you as you go along, retro ford or classic ford did a article on stripping on last month or the month before. 1200 quid, my god ! Would a t5 box have been way to big for your tunnel? I abused mine in my sapphire, and have never worried once, just change the fluid in it !

They are only a few cogs rings springs forks bearings spacers what can go wrong!....things I was surprised with using existing 2nd gear+synchro hubs and bauk rings and lay gear is in one piece, The quaife one comes apart so you can play with ratios to suit anything you are doing. No new circlips for shafts. Better make sure I don't stretch any.he assures me I won't break it with my power and torque output. As for the t5 option finding one at a good price, ratios, plus probably done millions miles all hard then you have to strip/rebuild to make sure it's ok.

I've got the BGH gear kit and there is no markings on anything to say it's BGH don't know about there boxes sorry. Might be worth a call to BGH to see if they do mark them. But they are closed till 1st sept due to meningitis ....Colin
