Old style non reflective plates that were previously only allowed on pre-1973 cars are now allowed on all cars qualifying for the historic vehicle class,i.e up to cars built before January 1st,1975.this will now continue forward on a rolling basis for historic vehicles. :thumbsup:

Yep, confirmed by the latest issue of FBHVC news I received recently. When the DVLA told them this it was news to them too! Where did you read that though?

Any definitive word from the DVLA on this as it is being disputed on other 'more anal' sites as a work of fiction!

Non-Reflective Number Plates: 
 
At every meeting with DVLA we learn something completely new! In this case it is that the end date for black and white (or silver and white) number plates is linked to the historic tax class date. So we were told that non-reflective plates are now permitted on vehicles built before 1 January 1975.
