Herr Doktor Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 How do I remove the dash top and heater fascia from the car please? I can feel under the steel dashboard in the hope of finding some screws/ lugs or the like on the bottom of the dash top but nothing is obviously apparent? I've removed the retaining screws from the dial cowling so that is loose. The circular directional heater vents have simply popped off and I can remove the ducting pipe but can't see an obvious way to lift the dash top off I've got a similar problem with the heater fascia. Does it "pop off"? I'm a bit nervous to give it a pull in case I break it and it's in excellent condition Thanks
colr6 Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 From memory there are fold over tabs on passenger side and three/ nuts around clocks plus fold over tab I between air vents be prepaired to lose your knuckles bit fiddly but not bad. Use a torch from under dash and should see easy enough 1
Herr Doktor Posted December 27, 2015 Author Report Posted December 27, 2015 This is my problem. I can't see any "lugs" per se. It seems to he held in place by "magic"! But, now I have specific areas to look at I'll have another look Thanks a lot
Herr Doktor Posted December 28, 2015 Author Report Posted December 28, 2015 There are two lugs on the passengers side, one in between the vents and 3x 6mm nuts around the clocks. To say it was fiddly is an understatement and as stated, I now have less skin on my knuckles than I did before starring the job! Once again, thanks for the tips 1
colr6 Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 Good job I don't own an escort or I might know what I'm doing
