Janey, you where asking about DIY powder coating.

 

My kit cost me around £130 from Frost, and I get good results from it.

 

You just need an:

  • Old oven (Cant be used for food ever again once used for Powder coating)
  • Away to clean work piece ( Sandblaster ) or ( Good old elbow Grease followed with an acetone dip)
  • Powder coat gun or kit

 

My 12yr old lad had a go the other week for his schools art homework

 

 

He learned
How to cut out 
How to clean up and take off sharp edges
How to spot weld
How to fold and bend thin sheet metal
How to punch holes
How to sand blast
How to powder coat, he was meant to do it red but the only colours I had was orange or black.

Think he learned more in one night in there with me than a whole year in the school metal shop

Excellent work there young man. Seems your Dad has all the right gear for you to play with, keep at it he may even let you loose on a project one day.

you should start your own night school

 

recon that would be a winner, giving the kids something to do as well as teaching them skills of work
