preacherman Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 Does anyone know of a longer throttle cable with standard pedal connector . I need a new cable for my mk2 escort. I want to keep the stall pedal with the ball type cable fitting. Just put twin Dellorto on
HotRodMatt Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 I just slid a pedal block over my Mk1 pedal then fitted the cables to that when I fitted DCOEs, don't know if you can do this on the Mk2 but I shouldn't think it'd be much different though I could be wrong.
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted January 30, 2016 Moderator Report Posted January 30, 2016 What engine are you using it with? If you using a Kent engine you could possibly try a RS2000 cable. The carburettor is on the other side of the engine and as such the cable is longer to go over to the other side of the engine bay and it uses the ball socket on either end. Having just changed the cable today on mine it seems long enough to reach the middle of the manifold of Pinto engine should that be required. It should easily reach the carbs on a Kent I would imagine. I havent ever seen a dual carb set up utilising the ball end at the carburettor side so not sure if thats the best way to go though. PS Just dont use a First Line cables like the ones Burtons and many other sell. They are rubbish ill fitting and under sprung.
mk2 tony Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 sierra cable fits on the ball end of the pedal and the outer fits the hole in the bulk head...just cut the carb end off to fit to your carbs pinch bolt
