Jaggsie Posted February 20, 2016 Report Posted February 20, 2016 Hi, I bought a Mk1 Mexico in 2001 and have rallied it for 14 years and was starting to show signs of too many altercations with the countryside. Last year it wen to Chris Martin and Classic and Retro and has been stripped back to bare metal. It has had complete new front end, both rear quarters, floor etc. It is being returned to original colour Sebring Red and will be in historic road rally spec with every period modifcation allowed. I have lost the bucket seats and opted by RS recarro's. Spec list goes into two pages. Car has had all metal work competed and is now fully painted. Engine is away for re-build. Now saving as gone over budget, so that Chris can fit and trim etc. Was going to rally it when I started out, but now decided it will get used but only on daylight, airfield type events, going to be worth a bit too much to side swipe a tree or similar. Hoping to get car on the road to be the course opening car on a historic road rally in North Essex in June run by Chelmsford Motor Club. I have acquired pretty much everything I need but if anyone knows where I can get a pair of original intertia reel front seat belts this would be much appreciated, I have a new set but not Ford ones.
