pinto rebuild cost

i might have the chance of getting a pinto but it needs to be rebuilt....what sort of price will i be looking at to rebuild it has ive never stripped and rebuilt a engine before so havn't got a clue on cost

It's all down to what specification you want, and whether you plan to buy the parts and assemble it yourself.

 

Mine will probably owe me between £3 and £4k for a top spec 2.2 with forged pistons and a very high spec head. but that's having it built by someone else and includes work on the carbs and inlet manifold.

i was going to buy the parts and rebuild it my self ....if head work has to be done it would have to be sent off has i dont have the access to a machine,i was just wondering how much parts would cost....im 50/50 if to swap for pinto or keep the screaming 1600 crossflow
