GJUK Posted April 15, 2016 Report Posted April 15, 2016 Hi, I am thinking of selling my mk1 escort, time for a change perhaps. Not sure... I've had the car ~10 years, total rebuild in its time, on a spit, painted in le mans green. It is mint, with no rust whatsoever. Everything has been done properly on the car, no corners cut. ~1 year old 195 (ish) 2.1 litre all forged steel pinto built by AP Racing engines of Nottingham. WCXM, HPE manifold and longlife custom 2.5" stainless exhaust fitted 3 weeks back.. Coilovers, decambered springs, poly bushed, quick rack, twin 45's, Betek ignition, MSD Ignition parts, 5 speed type 9, rebuilt slipper diff by Diff Andy at Arrow engineering, full SD cage, seam welded blah blah blah etc etc etc. The car has had everything done to it. Don't need to sell it (I know everyone says that but I really do not). I was just rolling road'd 2 weeks back ready for the summer. ...I quite fancy a Sierra 3 door Cosworth... Maybe. Or if someone wanted to buy it from me maybe I would consider an older 911/Aston Martin/Ferrari. What do you think she is worth guys?
SmokeEm Posted April 15, 2016 Report Posted April 15, 2016 When you have decided on a price, let me know. I have a friend who is in the market for a good one
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted April 16, 2016 Moderator Report Posted April 16, 2016 Looks nice. An easy sell if you absolutely positively must sell it. Prices being what they are there is no getting back in once you get out though.
2512pf Posted April 16, 2016 Report Posted April 16, 2016 I sold my mk1 lemans green escort last year I do miss that car ,now that was mint
steved35 Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 There's a nice black 3door cosworth looking to swap on eBay worth a look ?
GJUK Posted April 22, 2016 Author Report Posted April 22, 2016 Yes thanks, seen that. Quite fancy a 911 now. hmm
stephens_xpack Posted April 22, 2016 Report Posted April 22, 2016 What sort of 911 you thinking of? I do love the mid 70's through to late 80's 911's. Need to get in there quick though as their prices are sky rocketing as well....
GJUK Posted April 25, 2016 Author Report Posted April 25, 2016 Hi, Looking at 993's or maybe build a sport quattro replica. Not sure. The car is edging it's way more and more for sale as I start to comprehend hot having it. It would be for sale for between 20 and 22k. I'd seriously consider a 3rd cossie at this stage also.
stephens_xpack Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 Cool, hope you get what you need from the Escort, may be even a good trade out there? Trouble with selling for 20k, will the Mrs not take 75% leaving you with 5k, in her eyes that will be plenty to buy another "crappy old ford"
khanlad Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 To be fair to the other half, when we need...... !!! Something.........? how much is that? Mmmm 50 quid?? that might be the reason
