luckymark Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 I'm thinking of giving my granada a bit of an outing to Retro Ford's track day in June, has anyone been before? is it worth the trip? not sure the old gal is up to a bit of a thrashing but whats the worst that could happen! another ride on the back of a big orange truck! won't be the first time
steved35 Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 Do it I'm going to book this track day brands is a fab track not for the faint hearted but that makes it more fun
luckymark Posted April 18, 2016 Author Report Posted April 18, 2016 I'm going to go for it, not been on a track for over 30 years so be interesting to see if iv'e still got it!
colr6 Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 I'm going to go for it, not been on a track for over 30 years so be interesting to see if iv'e still got it! After that long from a track it's quite simple really. 1) wear brown trousers 2) remove brain prior to entering track 3) get someone to take a trailor with a winch on it! LOL. Have a good day
nosher 64 Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 We'll be there in the Cortina. Just spectating though..... Lightweight.... That's me....
luckymark Posted April 19, 2016 Author Report Posted April 19, 2016 Booked my place, according to my missus my brains where removed years ago, so that sort's that one out, i figure the best way to approach the day is to start as i mean to go on and see how far i can get the loud pedal into the carpet! my daughter is going to be riding shotgun, so that should be interesting, looking forward to it already, i might even service the old gal !!!! (probably not)
Admin Mk2Jo Posted April 20, 2016 Admin Report Posted April 20, 2016 Make sure you get loads of pics chaps so we can see how the day goes. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
mk1estate Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 its a great day out even if your just watching. my advise is just go and have some fun but dont drive like an idiot as some cars there are the pride and joy of thier owners and the last thing you want is an accident involving someone else and/or closing the track to clear the shrapnel 1
luckymark Posted April 21, 2016 Author Report Posted April 21, 2016 I will be pottering around the track being overtaken by everybody probably, not sure that a granada is actually the best track car iv'e ever been in, but just fancy a good evening out, the daughter is the official photographer for the trip, so if she stops screaming long enough i'l try and get her to get some good pics
mk1estate Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 good on yer, having fun is the name of the game. just remember if you break it you will have trouble getting it home without a trailer
