The RS Focus has just been released here in Australia and it made the news. Police were being interviewed how appalled they were at the drift mode and how they want to see it banned and if they catch anyone using it they intend to confiscate their cars and jail the owners.

Didn't Australia also successfully ban the line lock feature on the new Mustang?

I hadnt heard that one but it wouldnt surprise me.

The fact is the current government destroyed the local car manufacturing industry. All three manufacturers cease next year and then its all imports from then on. So when we are forced only to use overseas models they dont have any right to come along and bitch that there are features on these cars that they dont like seeing in the local market.

Sounds as though soon they will start to restrict the imports to only cars that they will allow you to drive.

So you may as well ship over that dodgy MKII and I will take good care of it for you....   :-o

Whats the immigration policy?

We take anyone especially someone with skills in short supply. Based on the anti-hoon laws though, broadsliding an Escort isnt considered one of them.

Its such a shame Australia is changing like this.its the only country left in the world where its citizens have had true freedom to enjoy themselves as long as they didn't trouble anyone else and the emphasis has been on having a happy work/homelife balance.

Its true unfortunately. We are starting to become a bit of a nanny state with the powers that be trying to micro manage everything. The premier of NSW is known as Nanny Baird. He started closing alcohol venues early in the city so people dont stay up late and get too drunk.

The government is in a spin at the moment though as we just had the closest election in history with people deserting the major parties in doves so they were barely able to form government. It took two weeks just to learn who was even allowed to form a government. The good thing is they know they are so out of touch their sorry arses are two voters away from loosing their cushy pensions. They have been told to serve the people that vote for them better not not the interests of big and international business.

PS Just as a request if you could try stop your Politicians from introducing silly and liberty destroying laws it would be greatly appreciated. With the lack of any personal initiative or free thought, whenever a stupid idea is introduced in the UK some idiot here copies it. Bus lanes for example! We have chronic traffic congestions so they cut car lanes down to add bus lanes that barely get four buses an hour and are totally empty while there are traffic jams creeping along beside them. Ridiculous! Now they want to copy the congestion charge in Sydney even though we dont have London levels of congestion but its a good revenue raising method and will force people onto public transport!

Same here, we have few buses and the ones we have are mostly empty except for a few pensioners with free bus passes.

Whats the immigration policy?"

Australians are protected by one of the best Constitutions in the world.

However very few Australians are are aware of the Constitution so the politicians and the law makers often to make a mockery of it to suit their own agenda.

The immigration policy appears to be:

1. White's who speak English: you will need to jump through high hurdles. Often ending in rejection.

2. Non white's who do not speak English and offer no skills set: the front door is totally open, complete with lot's of subsidies, pensions and every assistance possible. Plenty of examples where new arrivals are claiming it is still not enough and demand more....

3. Long term Australian's: all you will do is pay, pay and pay... and get nothing in return. All you will ever be is the working poor.

But the weather is nice....

Peter.

Sydney Australia.

Well at least then those empty bus lanes will get some use, so it's not all bad....
