bob wiggins Posted August 2, 2016 Report Posted August 2, 2016 Just removed from my own car all new and lucky to have done 300 miles although been on there a while , cosworth disks and proper fostek bolt on brackets rather than weld on , removed from an atlas but fits an English too genuine ford cosworth rear calipers and pads and the handbrake conversion cable , pull your shafts remove shaft retainer and replace with the bracket that's got a recess for the bearing ,just bolt it up bleed and off you go , cheap at £150 collected from redhill Surrey
Herr Doktor Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 For me to travel to Surrey from Cardiff and back would probably negate any "cheapness" in the sale. Would you courier them instead please and if so, any idea of cost? Cheers
bob wiggins Posted August 3, 2016 Author Report Posted August 3, 2016 I could do but really I haven't a clue how much they'd cost
Herr Doktor Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 f you can give me an idea of dimensions and weight I can make a few calls
Danish Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 For me to travel to Surrey from Cardiff and back would probably negate any "cheapness" in the sale. I'll be in Aldershot most of next week, I could collect for you if Bob happens to be in a bit of Surrey that's near. 1
Herr Doktor Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 Cheers Danish. That would be great, assuming, as you say Bob will be near to where you'll be working. Quick question though, is there a need to machine the halfshaft flanges prior to fitting? Most of the "kits" I've seen require them to be machined.
bob wiggins Posted August 3, 2016 Author Report Posted August 3, 2016 Hello again , my shafts are standard without being machined , brackets didn't go near them
Herr Doktor Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Thanks Bob. Another question, sorry. I'm running 13" wheels, specifically these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-ESCORT-CAPRI-CORTINA-7X13-13X7-DEEP-DISH-ALLOY-WHEEL-SET-JBW-SUPERLIGHT-/151771715191?hash=item23564c9677:g:86UAAOSwd0BVxKhD Do you think the kit will fit? Do you live anywhere near Danish's work place next week? If not, I'll need those weights and dimensions pls Thx
bob wiggins Posted August 4, 2016 Author Report Posted August 4, 2016 I took these off as I got some split rims and the back of the wheel was flat and the bolts on the outside of the rim were slightly catching the caliper if that helps , and I'm in redhill which is about an hour away from aldershot , don't mind meeting at the services on m25 or somewhere
Herr Doktor Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Do you know the offset on your split rims? My wheels have quite a deep dish as shown in the link posted previously. The offset on mine is -7
colr6 Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 I run full size cossy discs on mine 253mm with 13" wheels and the h/brake arm on caliper catches under wheel bend. So if this kit uses mk3 escort discs which most kits do 240mm you should have no clearence issues.
bob wiggins Posted August 4, 2016 Author Report Posted August 4, 2016 Just measured disks they are 240 mm
Herr Doktor Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Cool. My front discs are 240mm too so i know they'll fit. Just need to know if M25 services are any good for Danish
Danish Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 I'm in redhill which is about an hour away from aldershot , don't mind meeting at the services on m25 or somewhere If that's Cobham services, yes that's good for me. Is Monday evening OK for you?
bob wiggins Posted August 4, 2016 Author Report Posted August 4, 2016 Yes mate that'll be ok just let me know what sort of time
Danish Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 8pm? I'll send you a message with my mobile number.
Herr Doktor Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Bob, how do you want paying? Danish, where shall we meet up, and thanks for picking these up for me
Danish Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Well, I'm based in Caldicot, but I'm Newport a couple of times each week.
Herr Doktor Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 I'm close to Cardiff so not a million miles away. I could pop around Sunday evening with the money then arrange a place, day and time to collect the parts? Are you a wine or beer kinda guy Danish?
