OSF Contributor Mexican Gerbil Posted August 27, 2016 OSF Contributor Report Posted August 27, 2016 That well known auction site and sellers are starting to anger me. If people have a buy it now price why don't they list it with it. Just had another 'bid cancellation' Just wanted to rant at someone but the wife wasn't interested.
Ray Posted August 27, 2016 Report Posted August 27, 2016 its usually because theyve had a good offer on a personal message Colin same thing happened to the wife this afternoon, shes now upset as she wanted to win it for a christmas present for the daughter tbh, if youve got a wanted commodity for sale on there, you get bombarded with offers
colr6 Posted August 27, 2016 Report Posted August 27, 2016 I've usually found if it's a sought after piece it just dissapears with the caption The Item is no longer availiable Of which I suspect the same reason.
mk1del Posted August 27, 2016 Report Posted August 27, 2016 When I sell anything nowadays,i always put it on a buy it now with best offer, then at least everyone knows the price , then barter from that ,when its on auction you just know its being run up
OSF Contributor Mexican Gerbil Posted August 27, 2016 Author OSF Contributor Report Posted August 27, 2016 It happens all the time now with escort bits I bid on. I even sent him ( her ) a message asking if they were going to add a buy it now price coz I was getting fed up with items being pulled before the auction ends. Can we report them still to ebay? Nothing in the listing to say they would end it early.
khanlad Posted August 27, 2016 Report Posted August 27, 2016 I've got stuff on flea bay at the minute, had a lot of people message me making offers, if it's what I think it's going to make I'll take it, not bother letting the auction run? All the stuff I've put on there are things I've had laying around for years, I suppose you could list it as buy it now but I prefer to list a starting bid and see how it goes, let someone else tell me what they want to pay and I'll choose if I take it or not?
Craig89 Posted August 28, 2016 Report Posted August 28, 2016 If someone offers what you want you can sell it outside of ebay therefore avoiding fees. Thats why people do it as oppose to offering a proper "buy it now" Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
colr6 Posted August 28, 2016 Report Posted August 28, 2016 Think it's getting worse due to the high fees eBay are now charging, they even take a fee from your postage then with the PayPal charges. Not surprised really.
Danish Posted August 28, 2016 Report Posted August 28, 2016 they even take a fee from your postage then with the PayPal charges. Not surprised really. This really bugs me - if you add the ebay and PayPal fees on to the postage then buyers complain that you're making a profit on postage.

khanlad Posted August 28, 2016 Report Posted August 28, 2016 I've been out of pocket on everything I've sent so far
