vmackie Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 Hello, Long time fan, just introducing myself as I have finally got around to starting on a car that I bought for a few hundred quid in the mid nineties and has been stored ever since. It's nothing exciting, just a 1975 1.3GL Escort. Plan is to restore it to standard spec. Hopefully I will manage to attach a couple of pics. 1
Admin Vista Posted September 20, 2016 Admin Report Posted September 20, 2016 Welcome to OSF. A good investment if you bought it that long ago, even project cars are attracting silly money now.
colr6 Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 Welcome to OSF. Your well infront of the values already purchasing when you did. Gives you a lot more scope for the resto and still have some equity in it.
Mardy_Mike Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 Hello and welcome. Look forward to seeing your progress.
vmackie Posted September 20, 2016 Author Report Posted September 20, 2016 Thanks everyone, will try to post update as and when!
vmackie Posted November 25, 2016 Author Report Posted November 25, 2016 Not much of an update I'm afraid, but I have got the running gear off the car. Back into my garage next to strip the rest of the smaller stuff off. Has anyone got any recomendations for companies to rebuild the engine (1.3 X/flow), nothing fancy, just to GT spec?
Admin Vista Posted November 25, 2016 Admin Report Posted November 25, 2016 Yes.......but none (that I know) are close to you.
vmackie Posted November 25, 2016 Author Report Posted November 25, 2016 I was kinda resigned to sticking it on a pallet and sending it off somewhere, so I guess anywhere in the UK, distance no object as it's going to cost the same no matter where it has to go.

Then give consideration to Steve Curson at Vulcan Engineering. Please mention the forum when you call. http://www.vulcanengines.com/
