thrashermax Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 Genuine AVO car, purchased from an AVO member, known to the club for at least 10 years now. 2.1 pinto on twin 40s, type 9 5 speed, uprated electronic ignition and WOSP geared starter motor. Drives really well, no shakes or rattles. Was subject to strip down and repaint 5 years ago, the underside was cleaned up and stone chipped. Not a concourse car but a well presentable usable car to drive to shows or to just enjoy. I’ve been using it this week on my 50 mile commute to work. It doesn’t miss a beat. Body is in very, very good condition and the interior was fully re-trimmed by the previous owner. It's had 9 owners, was originally Daytona Yellow. As it's had a colour change and is not a matching engine numbers car the price is much lower than others. I want this car to go to an enthusiast. Please call Max on 0786 677 4656. 1
thrashermax Posted September 22, 2016 Author Report Posted September 22, 2016 Please could a moderator remove this for sale post, thanks
thrashermax Posted September 22, 2016 Author Report Posted September 22, 2016 Is it sold already? Not sold, I've had a change of mind for the time being.
thrashermax Posted September 22, 2016 Author Report Posted September 22, 2016 Get out and drive it I have been using her a bit more recently, you're right I need to use her more. I know if I sold her I'd regret it.
colr6 Posted September 22, 2016 Report Posted September 22, 2016 Not sold, I've had a change of mind for the time being. Nothing would change my mind about keeping that one !!....good decision
Admin Vista Posted September 22, 2016 Admin Report Posted September 22, 2016 I have been using her a bit more recently, you're right I need to use her more. I know if I sold her I'd regret it. You would. If your life circumstances dictate that you need to sell, or you're really not into it anymore, then go right ahead. But if there's ever any doubts or second thoughts, then hang on to it a while longer. 1
thrashermax Posted October 12, 2016 Author Report Posted October 12, 2016 Had another change of heart and decided to sell. She's sold now, gone to a new home in Essex. The guy who bought her is over the moon. His brother has a mk1 Mexico and his Dad has an Escort Cosworth. He's going to drive and enjoy her. I went out and bought another British car to console myself...
Tackleberry Posted October 16, 2016 Report Posted October 16, 2016 I would've kept the Escort personally, but as long as you're happy mate... 1
2512pf Posted October 16, 2016 Report Posted October 16, 2016 Mmm yep escort for me sorry Nice car though 1
mk2 mike Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 Nice one Max. Looks the business. Have to admit I'd rather have something like that than my mk2. I'm getting bored of the Ford scene, I think a caterham is calling Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

thrashermax Posted October 20, 2016 Author Report Posted October 20, 2016 Nice one Max. Looks the business. Have to admit I'd rather have something like that than my mk2. I'm getting bored of the Ford scene, I think a caterham is calling Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I think values are too high, I was talking to a guy who's been through a few Toyota MR2s, he said, they handle well and are fast when supercharged and more importantly cheap! He drives his cars all the time as a daily drive, he currently has a highly modified Nissan 200SX. I know it's a different scene but the point I'm making is when things are cheaper, people modify, trade, talk and drive more! My favourite Escort was my mk1 1300E - completely standard. It cost me less than £3k but put loads of smiles on my face. I took the whole family to Cornwall in it, in the rain, wind etc. I wasn't precious about it at... just used it and enjoyed it. My RS was lovely but when anything gets above £20k it stops being fun for me. It's as though it starts becoming a work of art that is there to be admired. I don't like art! I like a noisy, brutish, bit of British engineering to tear around the streets in! The TVR at less than £15k fits the bill for me! I still love Escorts, just don't need to own one anymore... I can look at your lot! 1

Tackleberry Posted October 22, 2016 Report Posted October 22, 2016 I do pop out in her quite often...not just a weekend car...but it's time for her winter snooze at the end of the month.... We'll have to meet for a cuppa when she comes back out.
