caprighia Posted April 21, 2017 Report Posted April 21, 2017 later smaller one. I'm strugging to find one. North West if poss. Thanks
Admin Vista Posted April 21, 2017 Admin Report Posted April 21, 2017 Are the screens themselves different or just the rubbers? Ricky Evans motor sport offer them in heated and standard format. http://www.heatedwindscreen.com/acatalog/ford-carpi-bronze-heated-windscreen.html http://www.heatedwindscreen.com/acatalog/FORD-CAPRI-BRONZE-WINDSCREEN-3537ABZ.html
nosher 64 Posted April 21, 2017 Report Posted April 21, 2017 As Scott says Ricky Evans.. They supplied mine, really helpful too. My understanding is the windscreens are slightly different sizes but this is taken up by different seals.

nosher 64 Posted April 21, 2017 Report Posted April 21, 2017 Interesting. I never knew that and I've owned 2 mk1 and 2 mk3 capris. When did the screen size change? I believe around 82/83 Ford changed windscreen suppliers from triplex to bovex There's only a few mm in it, but enough to cause headaches
caprighia Posted April 21, 2017 Author Report Posted April 21, 2017 Thanks all for the info on Evans, most appreciated. I'm told that the larger rubber one measures 52cm while the smaller rubber pre 83 is 53cm.
Admin Vista Posted April 21, 2017 Admin Report Posted April 21, 2017 But they both fit into the same aperture don't they? I mean the mk3 shell itself didn't change did it?
2512pf Posted April 22, 2017 Report Posted April 22, 2017 I wouldn't have thought the shell size changed just the rubber and glass size
classicwhitey Posted April 22, 2017 Report Posted April 22, 2017 indeed, shell was the same size. i broke my original screen but didnt know to measure it at the time. i sourced a new screen and rubber but it leaked like mad. i ended up getting an original seal from capri gear. was a really tight fit getting it in but doesnt leak now
caprighia Posted May 9, 2017 Author Report Posted May 9, 2017 Thanks for the Ricky Evans info. I've ordered a standard one at £110+vat which is cheaper than some used ones on ebay. 1
