Springalex 14" dished steering wheel

Hi ,

I hope someone can help me in my search for a Springalex 14" deep dished steering wheel and boss for a MK1 Escort Mexico ( see attached photos ) .I have been looking for one for sale ever since I got my Mexico 4 years ago and now the resto is finished I have still had no luck in finding one for sale . If anyone has one or knows the whereabouts of one in a good condition with either the ford logo boss or any variant on springalex ( preferably crossed flags emblem ) please let me know , I would be very grateful as it's the one thing I have wanted from the start of my resto for the Mexico .

Can't you buy these new ?...saying that I have heard of some of the new ones falling apart. Or is it there are imitation ones kicking about donning the Springalex name?

The ones on E-bay are copies and you are correct in saying they do fall apart , I heard of someone driving along and part of the steering broke off in his hand and it was virtually brand new ( the steering wheel that is ) . Hence why I am after an original Springalex .
