105Nick Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 I marshalled on that when they did a stage on the old refinery site at Grain a few years back, it was pretty good day and there were quite a few old Mk1s and Mk2s. A Saxo pulled into our marshalling point with the strut hanging off, so we strapped it back up using ratchet straps from the spare wheel and cable ties and sent then on their way Was with my bros work mate who knew I had a Mk1, and he used to do a bit of rallying in a Mk1. I finally asked him about the spec and he said it was a Mex with a Twin Cam in ... "Lotus I asked?" "No, BDA he replied" Apparently he had the motor laying round for ages in his garage after but they didnt fetch the prices they do today.
