Good month or so ago but may still have it.
Admin Vista Posted July 12, 2020 Admin Report Posted July 12, 2020 Welcome to OSF. Are you fixed on an Essex? The Cosworth V6 from the Mk3 Granada is a popular choice too.
AlyMac Posted July 12, 2020 Author Report Posted July 12, 2020 Cosworth engine is a lovely lump - but I'm an old fart with rose tinted glasses ! 😂😂😂 I know the BOA engine is far superior but I like the look of the Essex and its more period correct. I put a Zetec into my MG Fridget 6 years ago - taking out an aged and smoky 1700 Crossie after two years. I drove down to Burton Power to buy Pistons, rings, gaskets and a BCF cam etc and almost shat my Y fronts when the guy told me how much the small pile of new bits would cost me - over £2k !! I bought a Mondeo engine for £160, put on a single weber 32/.36 and a home made exhaust and hey presto, bolt on 160 bhp. The car went like shoite off a red hot shovel but the little car lost a lot of its classic character - for me at any rate. I sold it after six months 😪 I'll try RWL81P to see what the SP is on his V6. Thanks matey 👍
