X flow Eddie Posted October 7, 2020 Report Posted October 7, 2020 Hi all I am looking at getting my Rs steering wheel refurbished, is there a company out there that does this sort of thing thats reputable and reliable. Thanks in advance ☺
stephens_xpack Posted October 8, 2020 Report Posted October 8, 2020 Nice wheel, and it really (from the pic) doesn't look that bad....👍
X flow Eddie Posted October 8, 2020 Author Report Posted October 8, 2020 Where the leather joins up around the back its split, i am in 2 minds weather to have it stitched together or have it recovered. It might be a bit tatty around the edges but it is original. Its a bit of a hard call tbh.

Provided the leather can be pulled together, a Sadler wouldn't think twice about stitching it up for you, also lots cheaper than a replacement cover! 1

Yep, if it were mine and I could get it stitched up, I would go for that option. Seems way to nice for a recover. as Katana mentioned, only original once....😎 From the pic above, think it looks great.
Admin Vista Posted October 8, 2020 Admin Report Posted October 8, 2020 i had my RS 4 spoke wheel retrimmed in leather by a specialist wheel restorer, it was pretty expensive as I recall. +1 for trying a repair first.
X flow Eddie Posted October 12, 2020 Author Report Posted October 12, 2020 Had a word with a local saddle/ leather working guru and he is going to have a look at it for me to see if it can be "sympathetically " restored rather than being recovered 🙂 3
