caprimk1v4 Posted October 19, 2020 Report Posted October 19, 2020 Hi, There are a few on Ebay at the moment, some of the sellers are saying that they have Genuine Ford ones, but if it does not say FORD in the oval on the front of the glass, then they are not 100% genuine. I don't have any spare genuine ones to sell as I have Escort MK2 Ghia,s myself, so need the lamps.

While most car from the factory came with the Ford Logo lights, Ford did supply replacements that did not have the Ford Logo on them. Ford didn't make the lights themselves instead they used suppliers like Lucas, Hella and Carello and like the 7in rounds that had a blue H4 transfer on them to start with that then later evolved into a H4 that was moulded into the class. So too we see an evolution of the Mk2 Squares. By the mid 1980's the Ford spare part replacement has a moulded H4 logo instead. Possibly they changed suppliers from the original 70s production times or the supplier simply changed the design, possibly to enable them to sell as a after market part when Ford finally stopped supplying square headlights as a spare part. But certainly Ford sold and packaged H4 moulded ones as their own original spare part. I bought a set from Ford myself in case I ever wanted to go back to squares for originality. Buried in the shed of course.
