Mirrors for mk1

Hi everybody!

Hope some of you maby can help me out.

im after a chrome square door mirrors for my mk1 escort. What does fit in the standard holes on the door? Does the mk2 mirror fit?

I did a search but there was only old threads with bad info where to buy.

What kind of square are you talking about? Like these on mine? They are Tex mirrors

i run the tex mirrors on my mk1 too, ..great that theyre still available to buy new..

Thx for your reply. Very helpfull. The ebay link you provided, are they exactly the same as the mirrors on your car?

i use the mk2 mirrors  on my mk1  get the original ford ones not the cheap repro's that magnum make their chrome looks so nasty 

the cortina mk4 and fiesta are same  you just have to find a decent set that come up on ebay  plus they are practical and do their job

what Nick failed to mention is, the mk2 escort / fiesta mirror will fit, subject to having the correct seals for the door, so if the mk2 mirrors come without, thats where buying a cheap set of magnum ones just for the seal is handy, as they come with both seal types, (the mk2 van and estate use the same door as a mk1) and in fact the box says fiesta and not escort, even though theyve been supplied for the escort, with ref to hole spacing, i would presume that really all depends on the mirror that was fitted before, but the holes for the original fit 1300E mirror are 10mm dia, so theres a bit of scope with that particular one

yes, they come with a variety of door mounting flanges and fit well.

Yes, exactly the same and yes, they fit perfectly
