MK1 cortina strut mount supports

Glancing eBay looking at stuff I can't afford ( as you do ) saw a 2dr cortina but it had unusual strengthening support type things on the mounts. It's an import as has the brace in place but has anyone seen these before?

What a bloody mess !!!!  The diagonal brace is fitted to some export models and is welded. The bolt on plate is someone’s poor attempt at strengthening who obviously has no access to a welder.

Well I guess it'll hold the front end together when the inevitable rust comes through 🤣

I’ve just had another look at those pics, it would appear the rubber top mounts are fitted on the WRONG side of strut plate. They should be underneath. Those pics should be in another thread Bodged repairs show us your worst....lol

But they’d have to 3 phase fitted first ?

i have and its a lot cheaper to use
