4parajon Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 Ben In the latest mag you've done the part 2 of your Fostek axle for Project '78 but I thought you had sold Project'78????? or was it just the engine you put in the Focus (if I remember correctly) and you have kept the car and just putting a different engine in it?? I hope no-one jumps on this thread trying to stir the shit like the last time, I'm asking because I enjoyed reading the articles and what your plans were for the car, but if you sold the car how come your still doing the articles or eveyone knows but me and Ive missed something Cheers

4parajon Posted March 22, 2007 Author Report Posted March 22, 2007 bumptitybump to the original question please
PIG Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 got rid of it and alot of the bits aint he,i may be wrong tho
Guest MK1gaz Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 It's too expensive to convert an escort mk2 to take the power + torque of his engine so it's easier and cheaper to use a newer bodyshell instead . A bit like Steve Scott done with the A1 rallysport fiesta etc . There's lots of cossie turbo old escorts etc anyway so losing one doesn't really mater , it's his money at the end of the day . He's got a 2.8 capri as well and Morleys got lots of classics for him to share ...........
4parajon Posted March 23, 2007 Author Report Posted March 23, 2007 got rid of it and alot of the bits aint he,i may be wrong tho See I thought it was just the engine he got rid of, thats why I was asking

I agree completely it is his money and he can do what he likes with it, I was just wondering why they were atill doing the articles if he has sold up...or not...I dont know, hence the question. As for the "lots of cossie turbo old escorts" well this was the first build of one fully documented in one of the mags (as far as I know) and was enjoying it, so it mattered to me
Guest MK1gaz Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 Yes mate it's a shame that the mag didn't stick with the mk2 escort cossie project but it's not the mags car it's Ben Birches personal project i think . It's so much easier to install this sort of power into a rust free modern bodyshell compared to an old escort that he made the right decision really . He could make it 4WD now as well which would stop it wheelspinning for half a mile !!!!!!!!
