Sydaz Posted March 9, 2025 Report Posted March 9, 2025 Once again I'm struggling to get my brakes to stop swopped to a bias using 245 single grooved disc with cosy calipers on rear and hitec princess 4 pot with 260 discs front feels ok back slow down but doesn't stop pedal hard just checked MC 6.25 front 0.75 rear I'm thinking rears should be.7 any help appreciated.
Miniliteman Posted March 9, 2025 Report Posted March 9, 2025 Have you dialed bias all the way to the front? If you have no servo and standard pads you will be struggling to get it stopped.
Sydaz Posted March 10, 2025 Author Report Posted March 10, 2025 Hi not that I'm aware it looks pretty straight no servo because original one knackered and nobody can recon it so had to go this was I admit it's out of my league I'm just going on what others have said to do.im at a lost end with it and don't want to sell it on just because I can't get it sorted . I've spoken to a rally preparation company they recon it's a balance thing as well but it's seems no different no matter how I adjust it that's why I'm wondering if rear MC to big so not enough pressure getting to rears any help really appreciated guys.
Miniliteman Posted March 10, 2025 Report Posted March 10, 2025 It's not due to size of rear brake cylinder. Braking is done for 80% by the front anyway. You need front pads with (alot) higher brake coefficient (mu-factor).
Sydaz Posted March 10, 2025 Author Report Posted March 10, 2025 Forgot to say when I mean stop car in the air in gear press brakes rear slow down but don't stop I've mintex pads rear fronts came with ebc cheers for replying it's just doing my head in as I've said brakes are out of my league other than just changing discs.
mpdevelopments.uk Posted March 11, 2025 Report Posted March 11, 2025 you could always fit a remote servo, then pipe it up, that would help pedal feel.

Pedal feel is good just back wheels don't stop pedal pushed down or pumped only slows them down not stop yet don't have it running press pedal and I can move them I'm at a lost end with it now.
Johnny Boy Posted March 12, 2025 Report Posted March 12, 2025 (edited) Sounds like the bias box needs adjusting with more bias to he rear, or air still in the rear brake circuit Edited March 12, 2025 by Johnny Boy
Sydaz Posted March 12, 2025 Author Report Posted March 12, 2025 I'm giving it a try at weekend re adjusting the balance bar could be air I did prime MC first 7 ltr of brake fluid after nearly a year trying to get a servo and MC I give in and went with a bias that they all said to use never fitted one never driven with one before but id gone to far with it to give up and sell it 😭
Johnny Boy Posted March 13, 2025 Report Posted March 13, 2025 My Cortina has a bias pedal box, as there was no room in the engine bay, for cylinders. It took some adjusting to set it up how I like it. It has an adjusting wheel on the dash, some kits have this , and some don't. Find a gravel drive , or car park to test your adjustment. Its much easier to tell what is locking up first at low speed.
Sydaz Posted March 14, 2025 Author Report Posted March 14, 2025 Thanks I will I have a adjuster just not fitted it yet just need them to stop first then can fine adjust.ive screwed balance bar all way out and back in again but rear don't stop at all front don't seem to bad but till on rd I want know just can't take it out till they at least slow me down 👎
