Has anyone know of a meet in Plymouth or surrounding areas? I know of Exeter(v.good). It just that i see RS owners (sierra/escorts) down the sea fornt/barbican some sundays. I see the Triumph clan knocking about too.

Anyone got any ideas on this? Where - when we could park up?. There is loads of place's about the area. i like the Route 38 diner, they get yank, mussle car every month there. So fellow SW OSFer's, can we change the course of history? Maybe not, how ever Feel free to reply with ideas etc...i thank you!! SOUTH WEST OSFers rule!!! 8)

this sound like a great idea, there are loads of places in plymouth we could meet.

one thing i would sugest is that there is some sort of charity donation involved (i.e £1 per car) and donate it to a worthy cause.

as a biker as well as a osf nut, ive done a lot of ride outs and most well organised ones involve a donation to charity, but i never see the car boys and girls do the same and i think more should be done to help worthy causes.i.e devon air ambulance, childrens hospital, cancer research to name a few.

Like the cut of your jib pal! Great idea. Lets see if this link expands and we will talk meets ok. Top idea about the charity, there is plenty of options to give money too, thats some thing we will look at. If/when we organise this it cant really clash with Exeter for obvious reasons. We need to park up near a place where tea/coffee is available as Exeter was cold and no warm drinks. I have posted a simular thread in Duchy Capri Club (events) so lets hope we get some positive feedback on this little venture. I reckon it will be ok as other meets have come together with success (Exeter). Cheers bud

Works for me, the suggestion has been made that we have a big meet in Exeter every second month, Then inbetween the Devon / Cornwall group have their own meet at the same time as Somerset / Avon / South Wales people do something up Bristol way.

Route 38 Cafe works for me.......

This sounds like a brilliant idea. Have wheels will travel. I'm very impressed about the donation to charity too. I'm always keen to take the Capri for a good run. Although I've hit problems with her this weekend, bad tempered bloody car :(

It's something that has been mentioned a few times on a modified car site I go on, doing a show on Paignton seafront like the BMAD bikers group do, but it always comes back to having to organise marshalls & have public liability insurance

a lot of problems with car meets is the anti social behaviour i.e burn outs hand brake turns and super loud sterios, im not saying all modded car owners are like this but the few do spoil it for the many and stuff like that should be done on closed streets.

i would happily be a marshal for an event like this.

hopfuly more members of this site and other local modded car owners sites would help.

if any one knows of other sites or local car clubs that would get involved let me know.

Having a good responce to this. I will leave it an open floor and should eveyone come to a fair and final decision we will make it happen.

Goood stuff. Wont be up for the Exeter meet. I am going up to Essex to pick up another Granny. I came last time, spot on. Hope the day goes well and it is a little warmer. Hopefully the Plymouth area meet will be knocked around up at Exeter and get some positve responce. It would be nice to do as much as we can what with the summer round the corner. Have a good day. Cheers

Getting back to the Charities. Seeing as it's likely to be members from Devon and Cornwall. Could the money raised be split between the Air Ambulances or possibly money donated alternately each month or meeting.

Just a thought.

thats a good idea, we just need a few more members or osf owner to say yes to a plymouth or cornwall meet, then we can start to organise.

Not really mate, it's a little difficult to know who's who and many people had come along way.

If you want to kick something off for sometime in April, what I suggest you do is go through the member list (It takes time but that's what I had to do for the main SW meet) and send individual PM's (or emails if an address is available) to everyone you think is in the catchment area, I'd say Devon & Cornwall. See where you go from there.

I have included it in the Duchy Capri Club Newsletter to put some feelers out. Next Capri meeting will be 2 April. See what they all say.

I'm wondering though. Is it going to be monthly thing as well as the SW Meet at Exeter. Some might not want to make two trips in the same month is all I'm thinking. I'll get back to you on it though.

No, the idea is to have them both bi monthly

i.e. we have a meet for Devon & Cornwall somewhere in the middle (Plymouth ish?) one month, and at the same time those from Somerset / Avon / South wales areas can do something up Bristol way.

Then the following month we do it in Exeter area and both groups go along

Yeah good idea. We will try and firm this up some how. See what others think. We dont want to ruin plans that are in place for other meets. It just be good to get another mini meet or a full one under way in another place. More trips out in the classicthe better.I am sure all agree to that. Got the granny insured yesterday with footman james.£197 full comp for the year.HAPPY DAYS!!!

Have you tried T.A.C.O. (Tamar Area Capri Owners) - they might want to get involved too
