sab6024 Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Went to the South West meet today at Exeter. It was a great turn out of cars but the weather could have been better. Went for a run down to Exmouth Seafront for a run and photo opportunity. On the way back a few of us decided to stop in Exeter Services. While parked there some guy pulled up in the space in front of me and hit the front of my Capri. Gutted. He looked up and mouthed the word 'Sorry'. I was jumping at this point so I got out and went spammy at the guy. What made it all worse is that he had a New Mercedes Estate with front and rear Parking Sensors. He pulled in, stopped, looked to the front of his car and still drove into mine. He wouldn't even move it off mine until I told him to......pillock. He went into the Service Station while I cooled off outside. He then came out and apologised again and said that he didn't want to leave on a bad note. I explained that he start on a particularly good one. I then suggested that he buy a car that he can tell the length of. Maybe a Corsa. Oh well got that off my chest. Feel better now. I will post photos up of the SW meet when I've uploaded them.
Admin Vista Posted March 18, 2007 Admin Report Posted March 18, 2007 Sorry to hear that, good to meet you today, was the damage bad and is he paying for it?
pelvins Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 sorry to hear that m8 hope you get it sorted
sab6024 Posted March 18, 2007 Author Report Posted March 18, 2007 Lucky no damage to write about. He pushed my spots back into the grille and cracked the paint. To be fair I'm looking for a Mk2 Capri grille anyway. With all the rust around the front of the bonnet you couldn't prove what damage he did anyway. My brother thinks that he might have pushed my bumper back but he's going to have a good look when he can. One of my end caps popped off but it went back on with a push. The front end needs a lot of work anyway. I think I might have hurt his ego more than the damage done to my car.
sab6024 Posted March 18, 2007 Author Report Posted March 18, 2007 Sorry to hear that, good to meet you today, was the damage bad and is he paying for it? It was a great day today despite the weather. It's nice to put a face to the car Looking forward to the next meet

Admin Mk2Jo Posted March 19, 2007 Admin Report Posted March 19, 2007 Sorry to hear that Shame we didn't get to say hello to you - didn't know who you were
ilovegrannys Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 What a complete gimp! I would be well gutted. Did he give you any cash? T**T!!!
sab6024 Posted March 19, 2007 Author Report Posted March 19, 2007 Didn't give me or offer to give me any money towards the accident. He kept telling me it was only a tap. Stupid w****r. I'm still laughing about it now. I went mental at him. It was so funny. I've had a look at the front when I came home from work this morning. It's not bad at all. I need a front panel anyway and I know that if the insurance had a look at it they wouldn't pay for it anyway because of the metal worm she already has. Never mind.
Admin Vista Posted March 19, 2007 Admin Report Posted March 19, 2007 It matters not the condition of the front panel, it wasn't dented before and it is now. I'd have asked for his insurance details and screwed him for it, he'd have been a bit more careful next time!

I'd have asked for his insurance details and screwed him for it, he'd have been a bit more careful next time! I had someone drive up the arse of the Capri back in Dec 2004 and I had nothing but hassle in getting it repaired. It went to a Repair Centre and they pulled the interior apart and messed up the rear end. In all it was in and out of that garage 4 times. It still looks crap at the back now. I had so much hassle from the garage and trouble with the car I don't really want to go through it again. It was that bad I had to get in contact with Trading Standards. If I claimed off his insurance I'd probably have to go through it all again only to pay for a respray anyway. I'm saving for a complete respray and panel work to be done. I need 2 wings and a front panel and rear arches. Umm can't wait.
