  1. Not rich.... my dads starting to loose his memory (dont know why) Years ago I stuck a 2.8i in it, but its just horrible heavy and just not what it was, cant be doing with all the faff of MOT etc always loved tinkering about with it, yeah its a few quid in the engine rebuild, better than it going to a nursing home 🙄 thought about doing all the things i wanted to do with it when i was 17 got memories i guess of tinkering with on a sunday with my dad and then test drives 😂

  3. The petrochemical companies don't give a stuff about classic cars - as they probably make up less than 1% of sales and i'm sure a lot of those only use about a tankful a year LOL! The Super stuff is aimed at the high end cars that have 'intelegent adaptive engine management' that adapts to the fuel available by increasing timing until knock is sensed then backing it off so knock goes away then repeating the cycle continuously. Its how you get the best from a highly tuned engine and computers do it sooooo much better and faster than hoomans! Old Pinto's and Xflows probably needed 4* not so much for the octane but the lead which not only prevented knock, they probably would have run ok on 2* but supressed valve seat recession which is still a problem using super unleaded, unless the exh. seats are replaced.

  4. They would have to make that one the last in the season I have watched all the others so hopefully will see that one tonight. I actually picked up a valuable tip from one of the episodes from this season regarding plastic silvering. I knew about the vacuum way of doing it but its only for small items. I want to give back the chrome look to the plastic gutter trims but they have a 1 metre size limit for the vacuum method. I think it was the Jensen Interceptor episode where they were doing the grill and they did a spray on silvering that gave that same chrome look. I have been looking for a solution to this problem for years. They aftermarket stuff that comes on a roll isn't flexible enough to bend round the sharp curb on the C pillar of a 4 door and buckles when to try to no matter how much you try hear it up. If I can find a place that does that silvering locally I may finally be able to put the original trims back on. Car shows can be helpful!
