I dont know how easy they are to come across over there but search Recaro LS/LX range of seats. I have a set in my mk2, i offset them slightly on a set of custom made brackets to just clear the door (although its like 10mm) Great seats

In the photo Sierra is on the left, RS on the right. Friend of mine once used steel synchros but quickly changed back to brass. Don't know why exactly, probably wear related.1 point
