Well it's real now. All the accommodation is booked for the Yorkshire Cancer Cehtre charity drive. Home, Dunkirk, Stuttgart to Cortina D'Amprezzo then Ulm, Ghent and back home......average 6/7 hour driving per day. With a day to ourselves in Cortina and one in Ghent. It'll take one whole week door to door. Many thanks to Old Skool Ford fir the generous donation. Hopefully members can get behind us to get the sponsorship moving on, like, share and donate. Well the cars all but ready. Externally it's almost there just wings and bonnet to fit. Need seats, carpets and engine back in. Next few weeks and it'll be done, fingers crossed!

Roy's Cortina to Cortina - Cancer Research Fundraiser Some of you will be familiar with my restoration as it's been in the restoration section for some time now. In July this year I'll be driving a 2500 round trip from the UK to Italy, in a self restored 1982 Mark 5 Ford Cortina which my late father owned. Losing Dad in 2014 and restoring the car has been a tremendous journey. It's my dream to make sure others don't suffer in future by trying to find the cure. This is a great forum full of friendly, helpful individuals. Many of you will have known people suffering with cancer or be fighting the disease yourself. How many of you will donate a £1 to my cause in the hope I can help fund a cure through more research at Yorkshire Cancer Centre. Please give what you can...... Sadly transporter accident collecting from paint shop leads me to an urgent plea for new parts. Bonnet, Slam panel and all front mid and lower sections. Urgent - please spread the word.

Removing the drivers seat, steering wheel and putting a big snarling dog in the garage who's not been fed might help.....anyone used the tagging system AlfaDots? Marks up the whole car so parts are traceable . Might stop the breaker thieves?

I'm new to all this too after deciding to restore my Dads Cortina this year. My advice would be ask questions, follow up leads and don't take no for an answer. If you follow every lead up something will turn up. People on here are great for advice and help, try other places such as Retards Club. I've spent the last six months or more researching and contacting people, businesses etc. I've only failed to source a pair of corello spots......I'll find them, if it kills me!!

I know the place well, not used him but did talk to him when ok first started my build. Your very local to me then I expect, I used to live in Hightown in Cas, just round the corner from your mates place. There is an auto jumble at Rufforth near York every month, apparently you can get everything there. I've used ASK in Kippax for most of my stuff, just as cheap than online and no waiting! Have quite a few mates with Ford s, we might arrange a meet in Summer somewhere local. I'll post on here if we do.

Anyone had an issue? I ordered parts a week ago, still not arrived. Rang, told I have to wait 28 days. Now I'm not a business but how many people would wait that long? I'm really annoyed and frustrated. More or less washed their hands of it until the time span expires. Anyone else had issues?

As to value, for a brand new one unfitted I expect its name your price. It's supply and demand, worth whatever someone's prepared to pay I expect. Can't be many around brand new. Not sure about used.

I've tracked my old Retards Club thread down. I'll make contact and pass details on. He's defo got a full Xpack Capri kit.

There's a guy on Retards Club on a Ford owners site who told me he had a brand new original Xpack kit in his loft.....just waiting for the right time to sell. Not sure if it was Escort of Capri. I'll see if I can track the name down for you.
