  1. It should just replace the planet gear arrangment bolting in to the original carriers I would phone Quaife for a definitive answer You use your own crown wheel and pinion
  2. MK1 Cortina 2 door which I bought from Romford version of a Barry Boy, fibreglass arches on the outside of the panels roughly gladden on. Remote gear shift wrapped in a towl. I added twin whip aerials, a boot rack bolted to the boot with spare held on by a chain and 2 stop lights with STOP embossed in the red glass either side of the boot rack. Had welded rim 51/2" rims with 185 70 13 & BF Goodrich tyres Oh the shame, the shame
  3. You have to check the P100 gearbox as ratios are not good This is info I have however with Type 9's swapped out and changed over the years it's a bit of a lottery which one you get. [Type 9 (1.3-2.3) 1st 3.65 2nd 1.97 3rd 1.37 4th 1 5th 0.82 Type 9 (2.8 inc 4x4 ) 1st 3.36 2nd 1.81 (this is the ratio that lets the 2.8 go over 60 in 2nd ) 3rd 1.26 4th 1 5th 0.825 Type 9 (P100 HD) 1st 3.91 2nd 2.29 3rd 1.38 4th 1 5th 0.82 There is a T9 diesel box too, but I'm unsure of those specs (I'd imagen its something like the P100 box) I do know it has stronger bearings and a 0.75 5th
  4. The wheel & tyre bible is a help in understanding ET IN essence if your ET was 0 going up in rim width would push both the inside and outside ½ the increased width At some point the inner tyre wall will hit the shock so that is your inside ( back space) limit and ET is now used to keep this back space the same while just moving the outer rim. An ET of 25mm would push the wheel into the arch by 1" An ET of -25 would push it out 1" It gets confusing when you are starting with a standard car wheel ET and want to fit wider wheels
  5. Stumbled across this forum whilst researching for an engine build. I don't own an Old Kool Ford but have in the past however I do own several Pinto engines and type 9 gearboxes that go in my Lotus 7 replica. I have built from bare block up several of the Pinto's and have fitted V6 type 9's to straight 4 engines therefore I may have some valuable information to impart as well as drawing information off this site.
