Prob got a spare one but I'm miles away from you & as Puddy said cant really post. if you have no luck finding one localy let me know
-
I know what this is, if you look again at the plate it should have the word Campaign before the word special, the first batch of 1300E's were all called Campaign Specials they were all in Purple Velvet, apparently Ford were having trouble getting the metallic paint finish right on them. This should be an early car around March 1973. Yes Plus the wing badges are different if memory serves me correct

Found it but it looks like you are sorted now anyways took a couple of pics as scanner duff enjoy

Do It! Just because it's chopped it doesn't have to ruin it. You can do a subtle chop so that when people look at it unless it is parked next to another you can quite tell what's different. Here's a pic of my mates chopped Consul Classic. I don't think he has ruined it IMHO

Where are all the Granada's (Mk1's and Mk2's that is)...?!
sparkycapri replied to grifterkid's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
My current 2 MK2 Ghia X injection estate with factory manual 5 speed. It had the biggest load area of a UK production estate car at the time I believe But I had to go one better to get an even bigger Granada estateish one though -
For MOT I don't think there is a problem. Just for motorsport most regs req a fire wall
-
I always have a 'Back To The Future' moment when ever I disconnect battery on my Mk 2 Ghia X granny. The trip computer always resets to 1985! Feel like Marty when trying to set the year (only goes up to '91 tho)

Mate if you put down mk1 mexico and bullet box in the title and relist that it will fly away its the same box as they used in the mexicos. hope that helps ya I thought the Mexico used the single rail box. I dont want to list it as something it is not Regards SPARKY

The 2000E box was fitted to the 2000E Corsair plus these: Fitted to Lotus Cortina 1966-70, Escort twin cam 1968-71, RS1600 1970 on, Mexico 1970 on, Cortina 1600 G.T. 1968-70, Cortina 1600E, 1968-70, Capri 1600 G.T. 1969 - , Capri 2000 G.T 1969 --, Cortina MK3 1600 G.T. 1970 - the box I am selling is a 2000E corsair box withe the 'sought after' ratios and the true correct three rail casing with remote change. as per corsair 2000E & Deluxe, the lotus MK1 tina airflow, the mk2 tina lotus, the escort mk1 twink & mexico. as per Vistas picture the other boxes you mention Chris are mostly single rail versions with '2000E' ratios namely 2-1 2nd gear. I have pretty much all of those other boxes you mentioned as you can see from pics so will be checking all my other ratios I guess. might have 20 2000E boxes now Thanks for the advise Chris & Vista Cheers It has been helpful to confirm what I already thought was correct. I was starting to doubt myself
-
YUP done that (See listing). and it is correct 3-1 1st, 2-1 2nd, 1.3-1 3rd. same as fitted to airflow lotus cortina & twink escort (pre air flow are different). But surely the give away is the remote gear stick on the tail housing 2000E is the only box that has this. am I right. GT cortina had extension housing off the magic wand position and all the later ones were threaded in sticks (the ones that tend to fall out at junctions or other awkward times)

I thought I had a good idea stick my 2000E gearbox on Egay and it would sell easy! . I've so far had about half a dozen questions most of which are from people convinced I am trying to sell a pup and don't believe it's a 2000E despite the fact that Removed it my self from a very original unmolested 2000E corsair . I spent 4 hours last night taking more pictures for comparison & moving stacks of gearboxes around. Totally fooked now! revised the listing and still no bids. Am I missing some thing here? have look to see if I'm being stupid only £99 starting bid got to be worth that http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :MESELX:IT

I've been told they have to be bent when cold as the heat weakens them & they are more likely to snap

can you get 1/4 front capri bumpers
sparkycapri replied to monkeymoreton's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
mk1 RS models had 1/4 bumpers but as far as I know no mk2/3 capri ever did. If you want some you will need one of these -
Thats good news I can find some pics of some others i would guess can even take pic of front end of the aformentioned one we bust up (it was VERY rusty!)

How do you go about getting a written report on CC upgrade just looked on DVLA website re engine changes see below Changing your vehicle details on your registration certificate You’ll need to update your registration certificate (V5C) if you make any changes to your vehicle or if any of the details shown on your registration certificate are incorrect. The amount of vehicle tax you pay may be affected and you will need to produce documentary evidence of the changes. Changes you need to update You’ll need to tell the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) about the following changes to your vehicle: colour engine cylinder capacity fuel type (propulsion) replacing or modifying the chassis/monocoque bodyshell seating capacity weight of a goods vehicle Change to engine and cylinder capacity (engine size) DVLA will need written evidence of any changes to engine number and cylinder capacity (cc). Written evidence can be: a receipt for the replacement engine written evidence from the manufacturer an inspection report provided for insurance purposes written confirmation on headed paper from a garage if the change in engine size took place before you bought the vehicle if i stick a 20L pinto in place of a 1.6L one with an engine out of the shed I have had 10 years odd none of the above are relevant any one got any ideas
