  1. SORRY MATE! I spoke to my mate who stuck 30L V6 in his mk2 tina using V4 corsair bits he got off me and he did have to adjust the mounts slightly as they needed moving back, havent got pics tried to get pics of my corsair essex V6 mounts but too dark in barn If you want to pop over and take some measurements you are welcome to.

  6. escort prop too short!! 2.8i one will fit but any laser one will & be cheaper!
  7. is it a facelift or prefacelift? 5 speed laser prop and modified gearbox xmember (mk3,4,5 tina one can help) was it always pinto powered?
  8. took the engine out of my mk2 tranny recovery truck as head gasket gone so i thought i would have a look at the clutch to see why its been a bitch to get in out of gear. found this loose behind the pressure plate dug around a bit more and found another in the end i found four of them!! took the pressure plate off and the friction plate was a bit worse for wear any one else buggered one up this bad?
  9. hello mate i didn't get i chance to get pics but will try tommorow night i did sell some bits off one of my corsair V4s to a guy recently who put an essex V6 in a mk2 tina and it bolted straight in he had - V4 xmember, V4 bellhousing so he could use 2000E gearbox, V4 oil pickup pipe & pump, V4 timing cover & dipstick, V4 engine mounts. he already had mk 4 zepher sump and as far as iknow it all bolted straight in i can give him a call if that helps and check he does come on this forum sometimes i think but i dont' know his username. hope this will help SPARKY

  11. might sell my early mk2 series 1 2.8i ghia 4 speed manual. new wings & front valance fitted S/H bonnet all other repairs done needs wet flatting & top coat in gloss black, plus rear bumper in poor condition got original TCX metric wheels & good tyres or proper 14" RS 7 spokes (not mk3 ones) offers around £600
  12. flatted most of the primer down ready for paint. hope to paint it mid week then start puting it back together ready for MOT!
  13. gonna see what it looks like when it has settled & interior is in can't slamm it cos of the slots there off one of my mk1 capris so wrong offset and will foul the arches

My brother in law & I have been making progress on his mk3 tina estate project. replaced sills arches plus other welding etc, 5 speed conversion capri 2.8 vented discs & calipers new brake lines plus those sexy slotmags i think he should just sling interior back in then mot it and enjoy it for whats left of the summer. but he is thinking of pulling it apart again and giving it full paint job which means it wont be on the road till next spring WHAT THINKS YOU?

  17. i would say air leak but you say it ticks over fine. is it points or electronic ignition? how hot is the coil getting? have you changed the king lead? if you can try a different ignition pack i had a similar problem on a 2.8 special a few years back, car started & ran fine from cold but once it warmed up it ran like shite and would only go if you floored it, tryed everything no good until i swapped the ignition pack on the inner wing and that sorted it straight out. granny ignition pack is the same

  19. got a pile of pinto injection manifolds & ancillaries so i can help with it all or just injectors mate
  20. i loved my old hearse it was slammed in the weeds, side exit single box exhaust, blacked out windows, mattress in the back great for chilling at car shows/ beach way cooler than a VW bus!! IMHO took a lot of heart searching to get rid of it but the old tin worm had devastated it broke it and has given loads of spares for my other grannys plus the remains ended up raced still gutted to get rid of it sab6024 if your mate is selling let me know as i am seriously looking for another. heres an old pic of the beast!!
  21. i was only talking to my brother inlaw about the fact that he hasnt got anywhere to keep his mk3 tina estate once its finished cause we wouldnt give it more than a week on the road outside his house before it gets nicked for bangers! low and behold next day front page of the local paper this story!! makes me want to buy a shotgun ps i am not tarring everyone with the same brush most racers are sound but there are a few out there that dont give a f@#k and get away with it!!
  22. you dont need the chassis No on the shell but you do need a VIN plate small piece of ally with chassis No on it

  24. i am going to have this problem 2 as i am looking to put a quick rack in one of my capris. they did use to make quick racks for capris as i had a brand new one in one of mine years ago brought it with a set of spax fom the local tuneing shop. it was 2 and a half turns lock to lock, a bit heavy but great fun. can you use a escort quick rack kit to rebuild a capri one? i have got several PAS and standard racks so i might be able to take one to bits and try what v8ian suggested
  25. i have a spare set or so of the side window 'D' trim plus drivers door strip below window also you will need to change the door frame for a mk2 one got them as well let me know if you are interested As lee capri said you will need a mk2 screen & rubber if you want to have the chrome insert around the screen. sorry dont have a good spare one of those. I should have a rear screen rubber with insert though
