  5. Today I started the rear brake overhaul.the brake cylinder on passenger side was siezed and leaking.all cleaned up with new cylinder, shoes and drum. The only issue was the brake pipe had to be cut as the fitting were tight. Onto the other side, drum was stuck on with handbrake off. Got the drum off and looked OK inside. The handbrake mechanism was siezed solid. Got it all sorted but again the brake pipe had to be cut.new cylinder, shoes and drums fitted. Now I got to fit new brake pipes. Next weekend is the fronts with new discs, bearings, hubs and green stuff pads Getting dark at 4pm now and cold. Lots of tea required.
  6. Seen a nice mk2 granada today, between Hereford and Leominster. Going very fast. It was red, had 4 driving lights, front and rear spoilers. The wheels were painted white which looked odd. Nice car. Couldn't get a picture as driving
  7. Brenda having a detox. Going away soon. We got some nasty weather coming our way.
  8. Since topping up the brake fluid reservoir, no leaks evident and no fluid loss. Took rear wheel off to bleed the rear brakes and noted a drip. Off with the drum and what a mess. The wheel cylinder had failed despite the garage changing both sides 2 years ago...how odd. At least its a simple job. Will change both sides and fit new shoes
  9. Does this mean the seals are gone in the master cylinder.
  10. Was out in Brenda today, up over the moors, she went well, lovely full moon as well. About a 0.5 mile from home the brake pedal went to the floor and no brakes. Got home , looked in the reservoir and all the break fluid was gone. No evidence of any fluid loss on the floor.
  11. Having seen the car it's 35k job I reckon. I can swap you 10 cans of Tizer, 2 packs of marathons and a few golden cups plus 25 pounds and Brenda... any chance of a deal
  12. So decided to get the guts of the dash out. Leads everywhere . Ripped the lot out and start again. The volt gauge showed 17v and oil pressure 115 peaking at 140. These are now reading normal.
  13. One of the main. Differences was the Bruce and Sheila Sun strip on the front window. Optional roo bars for collisions and plenty of twin cams in odd colours
  14. Why not make a custom grill. Could be unique to your car and you always have the original one to use. I had one made a few years ago and cost me £80 quid. It was laser cut .
