  1. What brings a person to leave cars of any description to rot let alone ones like that? Madness. They need to be tracked down and sent to prison!
  2. Off you go then! You can frame it and show it with the car when you've finished it.
  3. Yep, you sure did.
  4. Exactly, yes, yes, yes I agree.
  5. Who'd of thought that a car was under there! It looks in good condition considering.
  6. Is that a Firenza? Does that mean after you finish the escort or instead of? It would be good to see another car saved from the grave
  7. Blimey, that's clutching at straws. It could be a mole hill under there!
  8. I think id like to see it๐Ÿš—
  9. The club stand made it into the Classic Ford magazine! You can just see my roof in the background!
  10. Who knows what would come out of that garage!
  11. When I was rebuilding my pinto earlier this year I had to buy a new 32/36. I got told that Burtons had 10 in stock and bought a brand new unused weber. They may still have some left.
  12. All classics!
  13. My daughter, missus and me were watching an old only fools and horses and Rodney was dressed in a white suit with black shirt and white tie and someone said that he looked like a negative. My daughter asked what that was!
  14. There are different grades of polybush, so they don't have to be racing harsh. Go to Burtons, they sell Powerflex bushes and they do a classic range so they look authentic.
  15. All I can say is wow! It looks ok, but I will check later and let you know. Well done for finding It, I bet you have a treasure trove of goodies in your garage๐Ÿ˜ Thank you
  16. The one with the pony tail?
  17. Thanks Colin, i think it would it be best if I took a picture so you can check they are the same. I will do it when I get home.๐Ÿ‘
  18. Hello all, does anyone have a mk2 Cortina ignition barrel they want to sell? I was going to order one from fleabay, but thought I would try here first. Thanks
  19. Blimey, how many? I hope you sold them all rather than putting them in the grave? Were you at the NEC? I was talking to someone on our stand who had a cortina estate of some description
  20. Hello Andy, welcome to the site. come on, we need to see some pictures please!
  21. As I said to Not Enough Time, I do need to learn that, the only problem with that is my battery is in the boot. I did have to smile at the recovery guy at one point. He said after hitching me up to be towed, knowing that my ignition wasn't working, can you put your lights on!๐Ÿ˜‚ I got my car back on Wednesday as promised in the same condition as I left it except a bit dirtier.
  22. I took out breakdown recovery with my insurance company, Lancaster, but the firm that came out was CGM. As luck would have it they were based on the north bound service station opposite where I was and there was a bridge over the motorway so they had access to both north and southbound. You were lucky to have made that decision to trailer your car up. It's a real downer when your car won't start and squeaky bum time all the way home for you in case you stalled it. Still, it adds to the fun of driving a classic car!! That's what they say anyway, but tbh it doesn't feel that way when your car isn't behaving itself. At least it's an easy fix, similar to mine.
  23. You'll have to teach me how to do that one, that could come in useful in the future.
  24. I did remove the barrel from the dash. We could get it to turn over but not fire. It just wouldn't spark.
  25. After a great weekend at the NEC, it was time to pack up and drive home and if we're all honest with ourselves, every time you have a bit of a drive in front of you in an old car your thoughts turn to actually getting there! Well halfway home we stop off at a service station and could I get my car started. The key just wouldn't turn. We tried and tried but had to give up and call for recovery. The recovery guy tried to what I can only describe as bodge it but in the end I asked for a tow. These days they don't tow you home, but offer you a courtesy car and a promise of bringing your car back within 3 days. I wasn't happy leaving my car but he said if you want a tow now he could only take me so far and would then have to drop me off at another service station and leave me to get picked up by another recovery firm. It was already past 10pm by this point and I still had an hour and a half to get home, so if I took that option who knows what time I would have got home. I took the courtesy car and got home virtually bang on midnight. I have already been contacted by the recovery firm and we have arranged for Wednesday to have my car dropped off. I have to say they have given me a great service. Ray kept saying about taking my car up on a trailer, maybe next time I should listen to him!
