I would say you could slam this down by 50mm and be ok with clearance issues and it would look so much better than the current stance. That's my opinion though!
Hello LolHare
That's amazing to hear from someone that previously owned my car. Do you have any pictures you can post?
I will be up your way at some point this year at a local car show, you might like to come and reminisce! I would certainly like to hear some stories about it. I have a few questions i'd like answering as well.
Out of Santa Pod and Mallory Park, I preferred Santa pod. I did quite enjoy the 'live action' part of the event at both sites, as it gives an alternative to just looking at cars and if you wish to get involved you can, that said I like nothing more than mooching around a field all day talking about cars!
I think a north and south event would encourage different people to go and they should DEFINITELY make them pre 90's only.
I completely understand that you only really learn by making mistakes, but I'd rather not give someone incorrect advice, but it is good to offer up your thoughts and it is what keeps forums going.
Next time someone wants an engine rebuild, i'll be there🤣
I completely agree with Vista in that advice is difficult to give if you're not confident on the answer being correct. I would love to chip in a bit more, but am not that experienced with the mechanical side so tend not to.
I thought I'd take a picture of an old 13" wheel with 185/70 tyres on next to a Porsche wheel 19" 295/30. In the flesh the difference is huuuuge! I measured the discs on the Porsche and they are bigger than the escort wheel!
Are you going to put it on the road, or keep it as a rally car? I think with the history that you have, especially the pictures, you should keep it as close to how it was, but on the other hand if it is going to be a rally car then it needs bubble arches!
