  1. Unfortunately the bonnet did not make it back on the car.
  2. Yes its still left hand drive.
  3. This was my old orange before it went new.
  4. Some mega photos, would love to have rip round like them, for a split second thought about sticking a roll cage in the escort big arches etc, then again don't think I would cope to well sticking it on a dirt track all them little stone chips lol,let alone twatting a tree. There's some cool cars there and even cooler owners/drivers risking there pride and joy on every outing respect to them.
  5. Thanks for the info on switchman Ray
  6. Already been in touch with the switchman he only exchanges unbroken ones as he uses all the inner outer parts again. Mines snapped on the chrome casing and the black backing with the electrical pins. Have managed to temporary fix it but need to replace.
  7. Hi looking for escort mk1 hazard warning switch,if you have a spare or know some one who may have one please could you help. Needed to complete my restoration, indicators not working. thanks
  8. Hi there.?
  9. Great looking car you have done a super job must be well chuffed
  10. Thanks guys
  11. Im not sure how many members would continue to pay a subscription cost even at the AVO club when the forums aren't being used it's will be like talking to yourself and will become boring very quick especially with the lack of activity. Retards Club was one of the problems being blamed for the drop in the forum activity but I don't use Retards Club so don't know if it's used as the replacement to the forums.
  12. The AVO forum is just the same and struggles with the same issues
  13. I'm new to this forum and it may be unfair to comment but from what I can see is,there is slightly more activity going on here than other forums which I have used. From my short time on here it seems pretty much the same as the other forums, the limited numbers who actually use the forums and add threads or comments are usually the same people all the time this just my experience it may be different this site. Others who do add questions or threads don't tend to get much of a response at times, which is easily seen from the replies and views on each thread this In turn could give a negative impression to others,I'm sure there a lots of experienced members with lots of technical know how which have been there and done that and could easily help ,again this just my experience it may be different this site. So why do some members help and others don't well from what I've seen on other forums it seems easier to accidentley upset another member by saying it's the wrong wheel colour and have a discussion about the so called right colour rather than comment what a great job on the wheel refurb they have done. There is some really good members on most forums but just doesn't seem to be enough responding hence this is why I looked for a new forum so what I'm saying is members will jump ship or just sit on the fence a say nothing. All forums Seem the same and struggle at times.
  14. Hi Ray I am an AVO member just thought I would take a look on another forum as well, you are right the car is nearing the end of the restoration,it will be 3 years January since I took the first part off. I've only just started the engine last Thursday. Also had a little run round the block on the same day as well just to try it out. Got a small snag list before MOT. I see the 1300e is also not to far a way it's looking really good I understand how much effort is needed to get to them standards.
  15. Hi all my names gene and I have a French escort mk1 Mexico which I named Rene. It's a one owner car, left hand drive model with 28000 kilometres ,it was used as a track day car at the Nugaro race circuit in the south of France. It was parked up sometime in 1979 and left to decay. I had only seen some photos of the car via an online add it looked a bit rough but I new I wanted an original car which needed some attention. But I also new I wouldn't drive to France to view it. In 2015 i acquired the car via the online add, even thou I had only seen the car on photos I had still had the impulse to buy it so I managed to strike a deal with the seller and for £700 extra he put it on a low loader in France and it was imported back to the Uk. It arrived back in the uk Jan 2015,It required a lot more work than i thought imaginable.
