It is down to the Police to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that you had an intention to drive, with all the circumstances that you have outlined then I cannot see how you could be arrested, or to use Hellblue's words the Police can go fook themselves A car park is not private land. If a member of the public can gain access to the area without having to go past some sort of barrier then it falls under the Road Traffic Act.

Battery charging (Voltmeter??) Would be useful

Mate!! For most of us in here, not having a white stick or a pacemaker is enough, I think Miss Ryan is a Yes from everyone!!

This series has been pretty pants so far, used to be that I had to have total quiet, kids off upstairs whilst TG is on, today, I couldn't be bothered with it really. Lancia's are Sh*t!! They rusted even more then Fords did back in the day, had crap electrics and made an Alfa seem reliable, why on earth they decided that they were the best manufacturer is beyond me . The public spoke and decided that Ford made the best cars, they could have run with that and gone through the history from the Model T, through the Mustangs, Thunderbirds through to the ones we all love on here and then right up to date with the New RS Focus (IMO a classic already). As for the caravan stunt, what exactly was the point? May gets to fanny around in some light aircraft thingy/have a pop at caravans whilst Hammond doodles around in yet another Italian supercar, which apart from the white stripe is basically the same as yet any other Italian supercar, that appears to be in the show every week, great if you are a 10 yr old boy, however bit boring for me. As for the rest of it, I have forgotton about it already.... Maybe the TG Bods should be sent a link to this site and this topic and they might wake up and smell the coffee, not everyone wants to see some poncey Ferroghini being driven around a track every week, how about some heads up races between some of the car forums out there, be a laff to see something like Drivers escort going down the strip against something from the Vauxhall owners club

yeh section 52 2 strikes and you're out.. bye bye car hello biiiig fine Setion 59, I've had 2. they take you car away on the second one and fine you £150. When i turned round to the plod and said your a ******* ***** and your all filth he did me for reckless driving aswell, I havnt got the summons yet but it will be 6 points and hello expensive insurance. a section 59 is nothing really, a friend of mine has totalled 18 in 3 years. He just keeps paying the fine and getting his car back. Drifting on the roads is still cheaper than track days. I dont tend to stop anymore though Sounds like your a right star mate! Twat..... I bet mugging off to the old bill made you feel great, but by the sounds of things they got the last laugh. But then with your IQ, I suppose it's pretty much what you deserve.
-
I don't personally, everyone normally starts off a rant with 'All old bill are shit - apart from Daggle of course' , although I do find myself biting to comments like the one above from bigdaz27 I guess you can't please all the people all the time, however peeps be assured there are some decent, hard working, old skool thinking cops out there that don't want to beat up everyone, aren't on the 'take' and just want to put a few bad guys away, earn their money and go home to the family and kids at the end of the shift. Oh and lotusless, yep i'm more of a lurker nowadays, no real reason apart from no OSF and no money for said OSF still pop in every now and then if only to big up the old bill someone has to!!

Thank you for you kind words

And that folks is what happens when you take jobs away from qualified POLICE OFFICERS and then give them to civilian call takers who only want to clear their screen of calls as quickly as possible, just like any other call centre Folks there are many things I could tell you about so called 999 operators, it's only getting worse as where I work they decided to close down all the resourcing centres that were located on the area that they gave the call out in, now they have almagamated them into 1 big centre, so you loose all the local knowledge: ie: in the past it would be, Radio Operator lives in Town A, works at Town A Police Station, gives out calls to Town A Police Officers about calls to do with Town A Policing area, everyone knew who they were, they had an idea of the area they were giving calls out in and could dispatch the nearest car, then... Someone comes up with the great idea of closing all the local operating stations and turning them into 1 big centre to save money, so now you get... Radio operator lives in Town A, works in Town B, works on the Radio giving out call about Town C, giving calls to Town C Officers about calls to do with the Town C area, hasen't a clue about any of the area they are giving calls about, doesn't know any of the officers and all the local knowledge that they have built up about Town A is now redundent. There has been a fair few times where I have responded to a call on the M20 between Junction 5 and 6 (Maidstone) only to run down there at a fair lick, coz the call is urgent (ie, car in the outside lane) only to find out that because the right questions haven't been asked by the call taker the actual incident is on the M25 between Junction 5 and 6 (Somewhere near Clackett Lane Services), But don't worry there is always the Wombles to fall back on, as they will soon be the only ones out there on the Motorway network.....

In my best Louie Walsh voice, "It's a no from me I'm afraid" Stick with yellow and white plates, it's down to the age of the vehicle and when it was first registered, a Mk1 Fiesta clearly wasn't built pre 73 so must have yellow and white, not black and white. However the risks have been pointed out to you, so you take ya chances. It's a £60 fine, no points, however persistant piss takers can have the number plate removed and a Q plate or other age related plate given, which in your case isn't too much of an issue, BUT! do you really want to give the goverment £60 of your hard earned?? The date of first registration of your vehicle is on the Police National Computer so can be easily checked, plus as it has been said before it's gonna be on the MOT test as well. As for you Jo, you should know better Mother Hen!!

I wondered how long it would be before this type of comment came up, Try living in an area where you have to put up with booming bass being played every friday and saturday night as well as exhausts that have been modified with baked bean cans, all from shitty Saxos and Corsas!! Im all for it, but then I am a right grumpy sod when I can't get to sleep!!
-
Seconded, nice to see there are still decent human beings out there!! Just wish more ppl were like you, would save ppl a lot of work and decrease insurance premiums
-
nah that will be so he can drive those big horse boxes the mounted police use....change of department Daggle???? Top answer wins!! Down here in Kent, we are trialing a new fixed penalty ticket, whereby foreign drivers are dealt with the same as UK drivers, if they can't pay a set fee then the vehicle gets clamped and immoblised, where as before foreign drivers got away with most minor offences as it was so time consuming to deal with them.

Of course having the degree in law you would know that, that is an offence, but sadly you are wrong, if you understand the law, then you would know that you have 24hrs in which to report an accident and that technically he could say that he was on his way to the Police Station to report it........

Again, say to your neighbour, "I hope you don't mind but could you please park your car so it's not in the middle, it's just that I have trouble getting my car past and I don't want to end up scratching your car as I squeeze past" Most ppl are reasonable so long as you are polite.
-
Why not just explain it to them in the reasonable way that you have on here , sometimes a gentle chat has the desired effect...
-
Ahem.. I thought it was cool at the time???

I asked.... Dear gangster0121, Do you work for the DVLA? Coz if I give you my reg number can you change my Focus into a RS, it's a 2003 1.6 5 door, but it's okay, coz I can say that the DVLA say its an RS if you change it for me, if you do I will pay you in jellybeans coz that is all your car is worth mate, get a life!! - daggle1974 He called me a Twat
