After lots of blood sweat and tears the Escort is finally ready for its MOT i will be sorting out insurance tomorrow and driving it down for its MOT on the next available slot. I am so chuffed with how it is looking and sounding now with the nice racey 1600 Xflow in there, i cant believe its my car In my opinion though the best upgrade of all must be the discs and servo and green stuff pads i ran the car up and down the drive all i can say is wow what a difference it stops so much better and you dont have to stand on the pedal to do it Just cant wait to get behind the wheel now. Anyway heres some picture of all of the new bits which have been fitted Hope you liked them

I have a 1972 L reg MK1 escort does anyone know if it will have metric or imperial brake unions. Also i have a set of calipers from a mk2 escort will these take a metric or imperial fitting? Any help would really be appreciated then i can get all my brakes built up and get my car back on the road once i know this

Cheers for the info guys i got the gearbox earlier and also the guy let me have another one for a tenner which he said is ideal for spares so i got one perfect sport box and one for spares for £60 Also i spotted a set of mexico engine mounts round rubber type and said do you wanna sell them? he said give us a fiver. So i am a very happy man

The guy said the numbers on the box read 75 AT B/A O A 10 Does this sound like a MK2 Sport Box? All i know is a 1600 engine code ends in BA and this gearbox code has BA in it is that sound thing to do with it? Cheers

Sounds like you clutch release bearing could be gone mate is it a wirling noise? If it is a noises clutch release bearing i dont think it will go the noise will just annoy you so much that you will want to change it evenentually someone may correct me but i dont think the release bearing can stop the clutch operating if it gets noisey??

Hey Guys I am going to pick up my Escort Mk2 Sport box today can anyone tell me how to check it is definitely a MK2 Sport gearbox and not just a standard escort 1100/1300 box? Is there a code or something i can look for also how many turns should the output do to one turn of the input shaft does anyone know?? Does anyone know the ratios for this gearbox? Any help would really be appreciated. Cheers Guys
