looks great mate! If i were you id go the scrap yard and look for some small rectangular indicators off something - maybe an old polo/golf? Then cut the bottom corners of the grille and place them there just do it neatly and itll look great! just have to neatly hacksaw a relevant size off the bottom slat at the edges if you know what i mean. just see whats behind it as to a way of securing them might be easy or you may have to fettle - have a gander!

My mate has a mini with 1275 kandn nice cylinderhead and bigbore exhaust and the acceleration is almost identical to my cortina which is 1600cc with 32/36 carb and straight through zorst an a 4 speed box! A lot of the time i seem to be catchin up ever so slightly but its very close. Id say the cortina may just have the edge, they aren't as heavy as they look, i pushed mine up a big hill by me when i ran out of petrol! big empty boot no big struts or bulky inner wings and they are actually smaller than a lot of people think. Let a bit of air out the rear tyres for a better footprint, and fingers crossed! How many people you taking down? you could always strip the interior for the weekend, take a bit of octane boost!

cool, i think ill swap the pepperpot tyres over to the ghia wheels when my extraordinarily slippy tyres wear out on the back! I think the tyres i got (part worn) are actually the same age as the car! They are goodyear gt90s and i checked my original spae and the tread is almost identical - goodyear gt70's! I dread to think what it'd be like with them on the front!!

So, retarding your ignition is a way in which you can run unleaded in a leaded engine? If so, how come? surely you'd lose loads of power and also i dont see how it'd help as isnt the lead a lubricant for valve seats? Does retarding the ignition merely get rid of pinking? and if so how? question time! Cheers

will lots of tiny cracks in a tyre wall fail? also the rear anti rollbar on one side a washer appears lose but the nut that secures it is tight. is this a fail?

No not at all, i couldnt get the horn to work off the stalk at all on mine so i wired up a doorbell and just put it on the centre console!

Same way you primered it! Just keep the can at the same angle and spray smoothly. I think very fine grit wet n dry between coats keeps it smooth. I was wondering how you'd get to the middle smoothly though, you might need to stand on a chair or something!
