im after some wheels that will match my weld draglites and looking at peugeot 205 gti wheels they are very similar, so will they fit my mk3 cortina?

agreed, auto-darkening helmets are gods gift to the welder, ive just bought myself a new fancy one and as much as i loved welding before, i love it even more now, comfort is a big factor as well, as im welding about 7 or so hours a day, and with an uncomfortable helmet you get mega headaches and fatigue. so this nice new one with nice padded interior makes my life so much better.

flux cored wire for using the welder in the gasless option isnt exactly a massive price increase over wire for use with gas. for instance with machine marts prices, its like £8.21 or something for flux cored wire, and £6 odd for the normal stuff, so not a big deal, and its probably cheaper elsewhere. and my welds arent poor at all with gasless.

ive had my clarke 100EN for about 5 years now, did all the welding work on the two classics ive owned, and a lot of other things in that time, its a great unit and ive never had a problem with it, itll do thicker stuff like main chassis members, exhausts and even thicker things ive had to weld up. think it was just over £120 with the VAT

anyone else getting pi55ed off at these postal strikes waiting for things to come or even never arrive! its holding my life up! sounds sad i know but i rely on ebay a lot to buy just about everything, for instance i really needed a new welding helmet, bought one and its was sent tracked on the 6th, keep checking the tracking number and it hasnt moved form the place it was sent from! im waiting on my new alloy fuel tank which is holding up my cortina getting on the road. grrr i swear when my postman comes to the door next (which the twonk hasnt done for what seems like months, and always just leaves a 'sorry you were out' card without trying the door) ill greet him with swift kick to the groin. i dont see why they have to strike all this much, they get payed around £300+ a week, heck if they dont want to work for that 'little' then ill have their job. theyre just lazy, ive been in the house many times when theyve never knocked or rang the doorbell and just stuff a red card through the door so i have to trek out to collect it myself! they should pay us to do that as technically were doing their job already.......anyway rant over Royal Fail i hate you

on my mk3 cortina ive got a pair of WELD Draglite wheels on the back of it (came from a 4 stud mustang), however the centre bore hole in the wheels is bigger than standard ford (not to mention they use special sleeved wheel nuts) . they have been on the car a while and its been drove a little with them on and it drives fine, however i was wondering if i should get some spigot rings made up for them. i only have them on the rear if that makes a difference.

i think the warning light sensor is the way ill be going, i cant really be spending the time and money on fitting a gauge (plus i dont want to cut a big hole in ym tank) so where is it that i can buy one of these sensors to fit into the tank? i did look for them but couldnt really find anything.

so ive got myself a lovely alloy tank to go in the boot of my cortina, however the only fuel gauge it has is just a sight level so nothing i could see when driving. so what i would like to know is, do i have any options for fitting any other type of gauge to the tank so i can see the fuel level, even if its just a 'low fuel danger' sensor that activates an LED if anything like that is available.

get a tin of matt black metal paint (i.e for garage doors etc) and either just foam roller it on or spray it on with one of those electric spray guns if you dont have a compressor and the rest of the equipment. if you get the water based paint it will dry quicker and wont give you a fuzzy head in the garage when your doing it. the paint i bought from wickes for £10 and it will do 2 cars easily, and an electric spray gun costs about £20, i do have both types of spray equipment but i just use the electric one becaus eits easier and is less fuss to set up, and lets be honest, its matt black, you dont choose this type of colour for a perfect show car finish do you.

how about a wheel lock? such as what the council buggers use to wheel clamp your car. i cant imagine them being too easy to remove.
